At the age of 22, I can say that I have had the opportunity to work with children for a large bit of my life. I've been able to work for many amazing families through babysitting, volunteering, and involving my occupation. I think anyone can relate who has worked with kids that some days are more difficult than others. Miscommunication, a lack of “Listening Skills,” a small list could follow, but then in a moment, they can say the funniest thing. There isn’t a filter of what should be said out loud and what shouldn’t, good or bad. Even their actions will turn the most stressful day into an innocent smile.
Ten things children have said to brighten my day:
1. “Bruno is your puppy and you are his mommy, was he in your belly?” 4 years old
2. “Ms. Victoria, do you know what my poop just looked like?! A hand. Yup, that’s right.” 4 years old
3. “When I’m angry, I turn into the Hulk. I’m ALWAYS angry!!” 3 years old
4. “When I dream about monsters, I pray to Jesus.” 4 years old
5. “I have a wiener! Dad has a big wiener.” 2 years old
6. “I don’t want to know what my life will be like. I want to be surprised.” 5 years old
7. “Mom, I’m 20 years old. I’m a grown up.” 4 years old
8. “If you love him, shouldn’t he just love you back?" 5 years old
9. “I want to be my mom when I grow up.” 5 years old
10. “My parents couldn’t handle another one of me.” 6 years old
