For some reason, our generation has an issue with letting people know how we really feel about someone. It's one thing to hide your feelings from a boy or girl you're crushing on, but why are people so hostile towards family and friends? The world can be such an ugly, dark, and evil place. It can be a place where you don't want to stand alone and face things on your own. Make sure you're not alone; let those around you know how you feel.
They say that you need to love yourself before anyone will love you. I completely, 100 percent disagree with this statement. When I am uncomfortable or not feeling confident, I confine in those closest to me. Without them, I wouldn't be able to say I love myself. The only way to love yourself is to accept that love given by the ones you love. Which is why we need to be more loving to one another. Being mean in life will get you nowhere.
Take a second to think about someone who truly helped you get through a rough patch in 2015. Now, think about the last time you commended them or asked them if they needed help with something. Think about the last time you told them you loved them. Chances are, you can't remember or it was directly after they helped you. Why do we stop there? If you love someone and loved getting their help, they most likely love you back and didn't mind helping you.
Personally, there's nothing that can make me happier than seeing someone I love happy. Sometimes, it's the smallest things that can make someones day.
Send a nice text to someone you care for letting them know how proud you are to call them your friend. Call your mom and dad or grandma and grandpa and let them know how much you appreciate their love and support. Print out your favorite picture of you and your best friend and write a little note on the back for them. Bake cookies for someone who helped you in class last week. The smallest gestures can make the biggest difference.
It's important not only to appreciate those around you, but to let them know you care about them. Actions speak louder than words, but words don't hurt. Don't be afraid to let someone know you love them, because one day, you could wake up and they might not. And then what? It could be too late to let someone know just how much they actually mean to you.
That's the one thing I would really love to change about the world. I would love to make everyone more willing to express themselves and their feelings. Everyone loves to hear good things about themselves, but then won't say good things about other people. You get what you give. If everyone could give out one compliment a day, imagine how much nicer the world would be. If you told someone you care about that you love them at least once a week, think about how much better that week could be for them. Spread love and stop the hate. Tell people how you feel before it's too late.
