I am a huge nerd. I mean HUGE. I obsess over The Avengers. I look up weird facts about Marvel and DC. My favorite superhero is Captain America. I have never really been a fan of Batman or Superman, but Batman VS Superman came out this weekend so I figured I would break it down. From powers and benefits all the way down to looks, I'm going to break them each down and let you decide.
So, as far as powers go, Superman probably has the advantage, but what Batman lacks in power, he makes up for in gadgets and training. The only things Superman has that Batman can't replicate are flight without aid, super strength, and laser eyes. Batman has an advantage because he is trained and has specific things planned for specific situations, where Superman is just strong and can fly and uses those to his advantage. They are each good in a fight for different parts of a fight.
Superman is definitely the more destructive of the two. Every fight, he flattens cities. Batman finds ways out of the city or where ever he is fighting. There is no telling how much money has been lost or how many regular people have been hurt because of a Superman fight, but Batman has vowed that he will never kill a person no matter how evil. That's why the Joker is still alive. Superman is very reckless and careless in a fight, and Batman is meticulous and purposeful when he is fighting.
As far as identities go, Clark Kent is my favorite. He is unassuming and lives a simple life as a reporter for the Daily Planet. He grew up on a farm with farmer parents. He lives in a comfortable apartment in Metropolis, and he has Lois Lane. Bruce Wayne is a jet setting, billionaire, orphan who has been afforded every advantage. He has had all the training and teaching that could put him at an advantage at any point in his life. He has a different woman with him at every event.
On a more shallow note, in my own personal opinion, Clark Kent is the more attractive of the two because he is easier to relate to. He might be an alien but he was raised as a down home hard worker who raised himself up to be successful on his own. Bruce Wayne is attractive in his own right but for different reasons. He is attractive because he is rich.
I am in no way trying to spoil any part of the movie. I thought that this would be a fun article this week. Make your own decisions on who won and who lost. I hope everyone has as much fun reading as I did writing this.
