I have been an avid fan of The Golden Girls since I was a young girl. Sophia, Rose, Blanche, and Dorothy all live together in their Miami home and go through life moments, losses, and relationships as a team. They are in their elderly stages of life, but still come together full force offering humor, a good cry, realization and love.
Everyone needs to watch The Golden Girls and here are 5 reasons why.
1. Humor.
The Golden Girls has a very sarcastic and dry sense of humor, but will make you laugh out loud for hours on end. Dorothy (Bea Arthur), I have to say is the funniest one. She can crack a funny joke like no one's business and still have a stoic face, which is the key to humor. Rose, (Betty White), is the woman who Dorothy has the most fun with, always laughing at Rose's oblivion, but still bringing joy to the situation. If you ever need a good laugh, tune into Hallmark Channel and watch The Golden Girls late at night, you will not be disappointed.

2. Because, Cheesecake.
As many know who have already seen the show, cheesecake is their centerpiece at any dinner table. Waking up at 11pm to all sit together, simply eating a slice of cheesecake. The girls go through some major heartbreak and loss in this show, but they always end the day with cheesecake, whether a bad or good day.

3. Age has no number.
Blanche, (Rue Callahan), is the prime character for this. As many know, she sees a lot of men and her age is never said during any of the seasons. She still goes out and has a good time. The same thing with Sophia, (Estelle Getty) she also is another great example. Although she is in her 80's and lost her husband, she still goes on dates and gets all dolled up for them. No matter how old you are, you can still have a good time.

4. Acceptance.
Throughout the seasons, all of the girls have accepted each other no matter the circumstance or choices that were made. They always supported one another whether it was getting married, or ending a relationship, or even starting a new job- they accepted each other for who they were as a person. No judgements, no built up walls, nothing ever standing in the way. They genuinely loved and accepted each person for who they were. And at the end of each day, they always made things right.

5. Lastly, because Betty White.
Betty White, 99, has outlived all the other cast unfortunately. But I have to say, her character I could relate to the most. She had a sense of oblivion when it came to things and only ever saw the good in people until they did her wrong. She was very modest and held herself together in the same way I do. She was funny, innocent, and genuinely a good person as her character, Rose. She was fierce and never stabbed anyone in the back, you could trust her with anything.

Although this show is not for everyone and I am just an old lady at heart, I fully would recommend this to anyone, old or young. The Golden Girls have always relaxed me and made me laugh, and I think everyone should experience it as well.
Rest In Peace; Bea Arthur, Rue Callahan, and Estelle Getty.
Love Always, Mel.
