To the girl who didn't think she was good enough, YOU WERE. I guess it's too late to try and tell you now, though, right? You're already ruined. We've already created a monster, and there's no bringing you back. Why didn't we tell you earlier? Put it in your mind before you gave up on everything. Why is it that we wait until it's too late to tell someone, "you are enough". This innocent little girl, who tried nothing more than to be the perfect standard of what society wanted, and we broke her. Told her, "nope you're just not enough". Why wasn't she enough?
Was her body not slim enough? No. So she starves herself until she isn't anything but a skeleton with skin. Then we judge her again. Now she's TOO small. So she eats. Stuffs her face until she can't anymore. Great. Now her weight is perfect, but she has to tone. Nobody wants to see a toneless body. Cool. She goes to the gym and works out. She tones her body perfectly. Now is she good enough? No? Well, what now? Her hair. It's too short. Nobody likes short hair. Oh. Well, let's go get her some weave. That's perfect right? Nope. Now they talk about her because they say she isn't comfortable with herself. Why do we have to make her feel like she isn't good enough?
To the girl who tried to be what society made her because she didn't think she was good enough, you're good enough. You're pretty enough. You're wonderfully made, just the way you are. You are amazing. I know society doesn't think you are, but YOU ARE. It's too late though. You're not you anymore. You're this monster who doesn't care about anything or anybody. Why didn't we tell you that you were enough?
To the girl who didn't think that she was enough, society's opinion doesn't matter. You are enough, always.
