Being a people pleaser can be a great personality trait, but sometimes great things have great consequences.

To the ones who always want to make others happy,

This quality of our personality can be a great gift. We can easily make friends while adding positivity and happiness into their lives because who does not love a person who makes them happy? We do not "kiss" anybody's ass, but we do enjoy to have the approval of the ones we love.

We always go out of our way to help our friends or even strangers out, but this quality of our personality can be a fault. Sometimes we can lose what our wants and desires are.

We can get so caught up in helping others achieve their dreams and tasks that none of ours gets accomplished.

When we realize that we put others happiness and opinions before ours, it is important to take a step back and prioritize happiness. We cannot always have others opinions before ours. Whether they are about our lives or anything else. I know we tend to keep unpopular opinions to ourselves because we do not want to upset anybody. But when we do that, we lose ourselves.

We lose ourselves in what everybody is telling us to do. We lose ourselves in what everybody else is doing. We do not exercise the amazing right we have to speak our mind and make our own decisions. We can struggle with this.

The bottom line is that we need to get over aiming to please everybody and just be ourselves.

It can be nerve-racking. We might fear that we will lose friends or the respect of others for our opinions and choices. We need to realize that the people in our lives that truly love us will respect our decisions and opinions; just like we respect theirs.

The people who walk out of our lives for not approving of us are people that need to be out of our lives anyway. Life is too short to have judgemental people in our lives. Do whatever you need to do to make yourself happy! That's the bottom line.

Sincerely,

A happy people pleaser.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
