Dear Friend Who Will Always Be There,
I honestly believe that God handpicked you to be the friend that I would have for the rest of my life. We always talk about how we will be the crazy old ladies still raising chaos in nursing homes and I know that that is exactly what is going to happen.
I miss the days where the only worry in our lives was whose mom was going to drive us to the mall or if we would be in the same classes together next year. I miss whenever you lived just two minutes away, and back then you could come over just to hang out with my mom because the two of you were just as close as us. Even all these years later she still sees you as another one of her kids.
We’ve grown up a lot since those middle and high school years where every selfie we posted on our Facebook was black and white with obnoxious neon writing all over it. Looking back at all those old pictures, it’s crazy to think about all the ridiculous things that we used to do. It’s a bittersweet moment where I want to cringe and smile at the same time because let’s be honest, we weren’t as cool as we thought.
I know that we don’t talk every day now. I know that we only get to see each other a couple times a year and we live in different cities. However, those times that we do see each other it is like nothing has ever changed and we’re back in high school giggling about the same ridiculous things. Those coffee and lunch dates will forever be the highlight of my week. I know that since high school we have made other friends, made other memories, and done other things, but I just want you to know that you will always be that person that I will always consider my best friend.
You’ve been there for so much and I can’t thank you enough for always being by my side. Thank you for being there when guys were jerks. Thank you for knowing how to make me laugh when life got hard. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on, for all the inside jokes, the comforting hugs, the sleepovers, and the endless amount of coffee dates. Thank you for loving me for who I am and always sticking by my side through thick and thin. Thank you for sharing the same motto that I have that “everything happens for a reason,” and reminding me when I forgot. You will always be my best friend, my partner in crime, my “sister from another mister” and my future bridesmaid.
I can’t wait to be a crazy old lady with you.
Love,
Your Friend Who Will Always Be There Too
