Whether you admit it or not, the majority of us have dabbled in the Tinder world. However, for those of you who have been living under a rock, Tinder is an app for your phone that allows you to connect with others in your area. Sounds like a great idea, right? Wrong! Tinder, although it may seem like an awesome idea at first, is just a terror story waiting to happen. From creeps to freaks, Tinder is just another way for the weirdos of the world to unite. From my own experience, these are just a few of the people you encounter while browsing your local tinder feed:
1. The Catfish
If you’ve ever seen the TV show Catfish on MTV than you know exactly what I’m talking about. The Tinder catfish, usually masked behind a photo of an unusually attractive individual, is your worst nightmare. Sure, their profile pictures look good but once you realize that they are indeed not the person from the photo and actually a middle-aged man working the night shift at Pride, the profile pictures mean nothing.
2. The Stage Five Clinger
Perhaps the most harmless of the bunch, a stage five clinger is just your average tinderer who can’t take a hint. When you first get to talking, the clinger disguises itself as a very engaged conversationalist. They’re generally super sweet at first but once you realize things don’t click and you stop responding to their messages things, take a turn for the worse. Within a few days, one unanswered text becomes twenty and before you know it, you have a full blown stage five clinger.
3. The Post Getting Cheated On Crazy
This one draws you in with their sob story of how they just lost the love of their life from some form of cheating. I mean who isn’t a sucker for a sad puppy? Once they have you under their spell, or so they think, they start to get a little strange. Whether they fall in love with you or leave you under the impression that they may have skinned their ex-lover, they are almost always guaranteed to be a hot mess.
4. The Christian Grey Wanna Be
From the first message they already have you questioning leaving a response. If you do decide to answer, you will soon regret it. The Christian Grey wanna be’s seem to think that their high level of perversion and their above average attractiveness will land them a mate. If you encounter one of these, be sure to unmatch fast.
5. The Hunter
Last but not least, the hunter. This individual comes off as a regular person, they make light conversation and are attractive but still approachable. However, the hunter is very dangerous. They swipe left and right in search of their prey and once they find it they lure it in and capture without any warning. Once they feel light conversation has drawn you in enough, is when things start to go off the deep end. From being overly perverted to just plain old creepy, the hunter is someone you want to stay away from.
