So, here we are, at the beginning of the fall semester. We've been off from school for months, and even though we hate to admit it, we're happy to be back and not filled with as much boredom. Summer is great and all, but let's face it: we all got bored after a while.

We're back to seeing our friends every day, going to our classes, going to parties, and having mental breakdowns over our classwork. Fall is so close that we can smell it. There are so many great things about autumn, but here are the top five.

1. The weather

It's not too cold, but not too hot. The leaves are all different colors. Outside looks absolutely beautiful. You can basically wear whatever you want and be outside for more than 15 minutes without being drenched in sweat. Lastly, there are not as many rainstorms or thunderstorms as there are in summer.

2. The fashion

Fall colors, like mustard, maroon, and army green. Light scarves and layers. Hats. Combat boots. The best of fashion is in the fall!

3. Spooky Szn (and Thanksgiving)

Haunted hayrides and corn mazes. Halloweekend. Scary movies. Candy corn. Thanksgiving. Stuffing. Sweet potatoes. Family. Friends. FOOD.

4. Fall candles

There are SO many great candle scents in the fall. They all make you feel so cozy and comfortable while having a mental breakdown over your homework!

5. Pumpkin spice

I know this is a very controversial topic, but I LOVE pumpkin spice and cinnamon coffees. They just put me in the fall mood!

Autumn is my favorite season. I don't think there is one bad thing about it. I love everything in fall. The leaves are beautiful, the coffee is great, the weather is perfect, and I haven't gone crazy from school yet. Fall is beautiful, and I might be the most excited person out there.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
