Due to dead week, finals and the approaching holiday season, I think we all look forward to heading home for a month of no school work and very little responsibilities. The holiday season is filled with lights, music, family, friends and food. However, after the first week I remembered just how boring my hometown truly is before the Christmas festivities start. The following describes everything that gets accomplished in the first week of being home.
1. SLEEP!!
The first thing I NEED when I get home is sleep. I have to make up for those hours lost in the library during finals week.
2. Eating real food
Being home means having a house full of food everyday. No more late night Dominos or frozen "TV dinners." It's home cooked meals for an entire month and no one will stop me from having seconds. (However, it's only been a month and I miss Cook Out already.)
3. Pets 24/7
There's nothing better than walking in my front door and being greeted by all my pups. I've been home for a week and have yet to sit in a seat without having a dog on my lap. Being home is seriously making me consider dropping out and becoming a dog sitter.
4. Binge watch Netflix
Winter break means sitting around in sweatpants watching Netflix series after Netflix series. Or if you're like me and can't decide on a Netflix series sit on the couch and watch reruns of Grey's Anatomy on the Lifetime channel every weekday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Apparently in one short week I've also managed to memorize the TV Guide.)
5. Relax
The whole point of winter break is to relax and prepare yourself for a stressful semester of darties, uh I mean classes. The holidays are sometimes stressful too so during the first week of break it's crucial to relax before the chaos of family parties takes over your free time.
After one week of being home I keep asking myself one important question. Is it time to go back to school now?
