The spring semester can be just as challenging, if not more, than the fall semester. You get through the first semester of the school year and then have between four to five weeks of winter break. This down time allows you to take a breather from the tough semester, see your family and friends and completely ruin your sleep schedule. Although you are undoubtedly going to regret doing so, you’ve certainly earned it. Get out there and have some fun before you head back!
While winter break was a good time to kick back and do nothing, the spring semester can come up quickly and catch you off guard. There’s potential internships coming up, the seniors are graduating and the underclassman still might be finding their way around campus. It can be easy to get caught up in the shuffle but once you conquer that very first week, you’ll be good to go for the rest of the semester.
The first week is all about adjustment. The adjustment of getting up for a 7AM class after spending all break getting up at noon. The adjustment of figuring out your daily routine in relation to your schedule. The adjustment of eating the cafeteria food again after a diet of mom’s home cooking for nearly a month. Ugh. So. Much. Adjustment. However, once you do all that, the stress falls away and you have a new routine that fits just right. You know how your day is going to progress, you know where all your classes are and you have all your books so you’re ready to take on the new semester! Now enjoy this stress-free period while you can because soon it will be time to settle into the new semester and experience all the trials and tribulations that come with it. The new semester will be tough, but you’ve made it through the first week so you can handle it!
