The First 2 Months Of College As Told By GIFs

Each and every college freshman has those moments where you just sit back and think to yourself, "Wow, so this is what adulthood is really about."The first two months, in fact, are arguably some of the strangest and most stressful times I've ever experienced. Of course I knew the transition would be hard, but I take plenty of solace in the fact that these moments happen to everyone. So, without further ado, here's a couple moments from the first two months of college: the good, the bad and the ugly.

1. The "freshman 15" is very real, and directly related to constant nervous eating. Whether its stuffing your face with Cheetos after a late night cram sesh, or munching on candy between exam; nervous eating is a pretty good stress relief.

2. That moment when your teacher says they don't believe in quizzes, then gives you a pop quiz the next class. It's hard not to feel monumentally betrayed when your once cool teacher goes back on their word.

3. That moment when you go to take a shower and figure out the hot water is out in your dorm. Hopefully, this never happens to you, but just try to accept the fact that at least a few ice cold showers are in your future.

4. The feeling of pure joy and euphoria you get when you get your first A on an exam. It makes staying in the library until 2 a.m. the night before seem almost worth it.

5. What you want to scream at the kid in your class who reminds the professor of the homework you have to turn in minutes before class is over. You'd think people would know better after four years of high school, but once a grade grubber, always a grade grubber.

6. That feeling you get on a Friday afternoon, after you just finished a day full of exams and projects and are ready for the weekend. It's finally time to kickback and let your stress fall away, at least until midnight on Sunday.

7. Waking up in the morning after going out the night before, even though you had an 8 a.m. the next day. You may have only gotten three hours asleep and can't really be considered a functioning human until 3 p.m.. But you had fun, right?

8. The inevitable feeling of loneliness you get amidst your freshman homesickness. We all know it all too well, so take comfort in the fact that we've all have those nights when we cry to our teddy bear and make our roommate consider switching dorms.

9. When your mom texts you saying she sent a care package full of snacks your way. A feeling of irresistible giddiness descends on you as you practically skip to mail services to pick up your goodies.

10. The nonexistent level of focus and concentration you have in class on Monday morning. It doesn't matter if your in a discussion section or a two hour long lab, before 10 a.m. on a Monday, there is next to nothing going on in your head.

11. When the dining hall is serving something remotely edible for the first time in weeks. Yes, I have double-fisted chicken wings in the dining hall, and no, I am certainly not ashamed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
