Donald Trump’s gut reaction to tell off and insult anyone who criticizes him is more than just a personality flaw now that he will serve as President for the next four years. His lack of diplomacy and self control could very well end up endangering the country. From the temper tantrums he’s had over Alec Baldwin’s parody of him on SNL to his recent Twitter attack on Chuck Jones for pointing out an inaccuracy in the number of jobs he claims to have saved, Trump never fails to present himself as a ticking time bomb. If he cannot remain calm when he is simply criticized in a random news article, then how is he expected to control himself when the time comes for him to peacefully negotiate with a potentially dangerous foreign leader? Trump cannot just call Kim Jong-Un a “sad and pathetic loser”. That would clearly not play out very well. There is a certain level of maturity and respect that the leader of a country must have, and if Donald Trump cannot manage to refrain from throwing a fit whenever comedians simply do their jobs, then the next four years could set us back further than ever imagined.
