After a questionable
but defiantly impressionable VMA performance, Miley Cyrus has left a few us
speechless. A week later, I am still puzzled. My main question though: How did my
childhood role model, Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana, become such a flagrant young
adult?
Lets start from the beginning.
1992 -2005: The 9 Years of Innocence
I like to call this era of Cyrus’ life, or should I say Destiny Hope Cyrus’ life, her 9 years of innocence. Let’s hope she savored these years because its apparent she took detour from her church going, purity ring wearing beliefs. On another note, Cyrus had her first acting appearance in the television series The Doc as a 9 year old. Yeah, same.
2006 - 2009 Sweet Niblets! It’s Hannah Montana
The world met and fell in love with Cyrus in her Disney T.V Series: Hannah Montana. Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana were both respectable entertainers and Teen Idols for the tweens of the world. The lyrics to The Best of Both Worlds, Rockstar, and Nobody’s Perfect will forever be inscribed in our brains.
Then came The Hannah Montana Movie in 2009 which marked the beginning of the end of Cyrus’ Hannah Montana Era. The 17 year old was ready for the next chapter in her life. For better or for worse.
2010 – Cyrus "Cant Be Tamed"
In 2010 Cyrus gave us a little taste of her provocative self in her Cant be Tamed music video. Good to know that Cyrus sticks to her word; even five years later.

2012: The Awful Break Up
In September 2012 Cyrus and her Finance, Liam Hemsworth, split. It safe to say that this was the turning point in Cyrus' career. A broken heart meant new hair cut, a new look, a new album, and maybe the use of some new illegal substances.
2013-2014: The Wrecking Ball Era
Then we have the release of Cyrus' new album Bangerz, which only exacerbated her risque behavior.
2015: Present Day Cyrus
While some say she has completely ruined her reputation and others admire her IDAGF attitude, The VMA’s proved Cyrus is one of a kind. I'll let the gif speak for itself.
