The end of every semester is a whirlwind.

The end of the fall semester is a special kind of whirlwind.

It's full of emotions and mood swings and parties etc. You've been shamelessly partying, shamelessly crying over the work you have to do, shamelessly procrastinating.... So who better to represent college kids this time of year than the Shameless clan?

Four Weeks to Finals:

So far so good. Everything is going well, you think you've finally found the perfect balance between work and play. You're caught up on all your work and you just got invited to a semiformal

Three and a Half Weeks to Finals:

You're starting to get suspicious about how little work you actually have to do. You're constantly checking your syllabus for each class making sure you didn't forget anything. Finally you realize, your professors are messing with you, it's the calm before the storm.

Three Weeks to Finals:

You wake up and finally, it's Thanksgiving break. You've been waiting for this for a couple weeks now. It's the first time in a while you and all your home friends are home at the same time, all the delicious food you can eat instead of Ramen/Kraft mac and cheese and whatever else you can put in your microwave.

Two and a Half Weeks to Finals:

You realize finals are sooner than anticipated. One minute you're knee deep in Grandma's famous mashed potatoes and the next you're drowning in deadlines and study guides.

Two Weeks to Finals:

You'll do anything to procrastinate, and soon you'll be separated from your school friends so you try and spend as much time with them as you can. You've stopped stressing about finals because your brain made you forget all about them. It's all about getting in the last couple nights out before you're chained to the library.

A Week and a Half to Finals:

Here it comes. Complete and total panic. You're so stressed that you're stressing about how stressed you are. You're averaging three mental breakdowns a day and you can't even count the amount of ice cream you've eaten.

One Week to finals:

The stress has only gotten worse. The bags under your eyes could hold groceries, your brain feels like mush, you don't even know what you don't know and if you have to see one more index card you might explode.

Finals Week:

You've been trying to remain calm but you're so jacked up on coffee you can't sit still. Your first test is hours away and you're in full panic mode. Did you study enough? Were the things you studied right? Are your SURE your have a number 2 pencil with you?

After Your Finals:

It's officially the holiday season. A huge weight has been lifted off your shoulder and you TOTALLY aced that test.

Take your finals with Lip's brain, Fiona's determination, and Carl's attitude, and then party like a Gallagher.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
