The End Of Fall Semester As Told By Blair Waldorf

Because nothing says "finals are almost upon us" like a Blair Waldorf eye roll.

The End Of Fall Semester As Told By Blair Waldorf

It's toward the end of most colleges' fall semester and, let's be honest with ourselves, we've all pretty much given up. Considering the amount of stress that the end of the semester brings, what with trying to maintain good grades and bring up bad ones, cramming for multiple exams and trying to finish papers and projects for almost every class, we're all kind of doomed. Tack on the several extracurricular activities we're all involved in and the fact that we're collectively exhausted enough to actually hibernate this winter and you'll get a true sense of what being a college student at this time of the year is really like. We all have our coping mechanisms, most of them involving Netflix, because why worry about tomorrow when you can binge watch your favorite series today? My personal favorite at the moment is Gossip Girl, so I figured why not combine my own personal end-of-the-semester dread with the expressive eye rolls and dramatic sighs of Blair Waldorf? I sincerely hope you enjoy wasting time that you could be spending getting work done laughing at these memes and gifs. You're welcome, in advance.

1. When someone asks how your semester is going.

Your response:

Reality:

2. When your professor assigns an extra paper before the end of term.

3. When someone tries to tell you that you're being too melodramatic about the amount of work you have left to do.

4. When other people say they got an A on an exam that you failed.

5. When other people say they failed an exam that you got an A on.

Externally:

Internally:

:

6. What you're dreaming about doing over winter break.

7. When someone tries to convince you that they're more stressed than you are.

8. When someone humble brags about getting an adequate amount of sleep and you got less than an hour last night.

9. When someone cute passes you in the library, but you haven't washed your hair in two weeks and the bags under your eyes are bigger than the textbook you're reading.

10. When your professor sets the exam time for 7:30 AM.

11. When someone's lack of effort on a group project could bring down your grade right before the semester ends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
