Katie, you beautiful rule-breaking moth.
In the 6-7 years we have been friends, you have made me a better person. Without you, I would never have had the courage to do seemingly dumb shit like ask certain boys for their numbers, or choose a white prom dress (which by the way, was a fantastic decision).
Without you, my closet would shrink in half, and the shoe options I have would go down immensely. You make WalMart trips at 8 am fun, you make jamming out in the car to Hannah Montana more fun than the actual destination. You make the zoo, the aquarium, and Forever 21 fun. Hell, you make the car wash fun. I got to hang out with you all summer, and I got to get closer to you than I am to anyone else.
As Fall Break approaches, and then soon thereafter Thanksgiving and Christmas Break where I will get to see you every day, I'm reminded of how much you mean to me. (Not to say I'm not reminded of this every day, but still.)
Our daily 2-hour phone calls, our endless snapchats, and even our video chats are nothing compared to actually seeing you in person. Living 6 hours away from you instead of 6 minutes is so hard, especially since now your car is Dead.
But soon, Dad will buy you a new car and you'll be able to make the trips to see me, and hopefully, soon I'll be able to visit you (ie. get my shit together enough to save money to buy a car).
But, nonetheless, I get to see you this upcoming weekend, even if for only one sleepover, even if for only one neigh puppy (horse) ride, even if for only one makeup session followed by coffee runs while jamming out on the way there.
I trust you with my life, I trust you with my super cute black booties, I trust you with my secrets, I trust you with my emotions, and I trust you with my heart. You are truly my closest friend.
Thank you for teaching me how to cook biscuits and gravy, thank you for always listening to me even though I never shut up, thank you for always being there for me, thank you for having the same music taste, thank you for introducing me to The Office, thank you for always watching Parks and Rec with me, thanks for being my soulmate, thank you for being the Heroin Chic to my Sunshine Princess when we're 90's barbies, thank you for being my best friend, but most importantly, thank you for always loving me.
Love,
the Leslie Knope to your Ann Perkins
