The College Student Getting Married

For the college student that everyone thinks is crazy for getting married already

9

Yes, I will say it. It is not easy being in college and getting married and I completely understand what you are going through. I am a nursing student and getting married October of 2018. I have to say you will find the way to balance everything from cleaning house, cooking dinner, and studying. No by no means is it easy but life is all a juggling act.

1. Study

Your husband or husband to be will just have to understand that yes you do love him and want to spend time with him but you studying means your not only bettering your self but also your life together. Once all this crazy amount of money is spent on tuition and textbooks it gets better from there. You studying means you will have that degree in your hand and you will have the income to support each other.

2. Wedding planning

Have the wedding you always wanted. Plan little by little and understand that on your big day it doesn't matter if it all falls apart at least your married and have something good to laugh about later down the road. Details are just details make sure you love the big things, your venue, dress, flowers, and food.

3. Cleaning that house

Don't stress when the dishes have not been washed they will still be there when you get ready to do them. Trust me they never run away I've tried to get them to. Floors can be swept and moped later they will just be dirty again in an hour. Its okay to eat leftovers or cook something quick he will survive. Now when it comes to laundry yes wash all those clothes but hey if you know whats clean and whats dirty does it really matter if they are in a hamper because trust me the laundry fairy never shows up.

4. School

Yes everyone at school says your crazy or too young to be getting married but if you have found the one you love and want to spend the rest of your life with its time to get married whenever you're ready. Just because you're in school doesn't mean that you can't be a wife. Your plans are your plans and that's okay being married doesn't mean you can't go out, it just means you have your loving other half with you or you may end up going home earlier than everyone else.

Just breathe they only judge because they don't know what they want yet. Weddings are weddings and we each have a different road we are supposed to take.

From the Bride to be and Nursing student.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
