There is a wonderful thing in the world and that thing is called Life. Life is one of the very few things that is totally unavoidable. The other things are death, taxes, and (a custom one that I have thrown on the list) stress. Life at some point will contain each one of the three things that I have just listed. It's not a question about if, it's a question of when.
Here is how life starts out for pretty much all of us: you start off being born and you have a terrific fun time during your very young years of life. After your young years, you then move into the next phase of your life that I like to call: "Approaching Checkpoint." During this phase of your life, you are either about to move on from junior high to go to high school or you are about to move on from high school to the real world. The entire time you are in the phase of "Approaching Checkpoint," you are trying to figure out what you are going to do with your life and where you want to complete your goals. The task of thinking about what you want to do with your life and where you want to do it sounds very easy (and it is very easy) until you finally hit that point in life where you really have to start acting on your goals. Once you start carrying your goals (or at least working towards the goals you have made), is the point in life where you reach adulthood. You can do whatever you want to do.
I moved up to College Station knowing what I wanted to do with my life. After I got started on that, I soon realized that I would enjoy doing something better than what I was doing at that current moment. One of the biggest issues, when it comes to finding out what you are good at and what you want to do with your life, is finding the way to get your foot in the door of that career field. The past year and a half of my life has been very stressful. I have not been able to find that push to get my foot in the door of the field of what I want to be in. Life has really kicked me in the butt this past year and a half, but I won't give up because I know sooner or later, it will all work out for the best.
There is a song I listen to when I get stressed about life and the song is called The Climb by Miley Cyrus. This song has several lines that are very encouraging and powerful. When Miley Cyrus says:
"Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shaking
But I, I gotta keep trying,
Gotta keep my head held high"
Those lines are exactly how I feel and I'm pretty sure someone else feels the same way.
Miley then goes on to say these lines:
"Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb"
That is exactly the outlook you should have on life. Because just like Miley said, it's not about how fast you get to the point you want to be at, it's not about what's waiting for you on the other side, but it is about THE CLIMB you take to get to the point you want to be at. Life is full of bumpy roads and mountains, and valleys but don't let that stop you from reaching your true potential and your goals in life.
When you get knocked down, get back up and keep pushing because if you don't, you will regret the fact that you gave up too soon.
If you think that you are the only person that gets beat up by life and its hard bumpy roads, you are very incorrect.
Life hits everyone hard in the face in some way, shape, or form. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There are multiple people out in the same world you and I live in that are struggling with the exact same thing. So if you feel stressed and down, don't give up. Listen to The Climb by Miley Cyrus or any other song about life's struggles and how you need to keep pushing.
Life is very fun at times, and very stressful at other times. But not matter what take your time in life but do not waste your time.
