Now that Thanksgiving has officially passed, all the grumps upset over celebrating Christmas too early can finally accept the arrival of the Christmas spirit! Whether it’s the romantic snowfall, tons of overplayed Christmas songs, or nonstop stream of holiday classics that hit the TV stations for the 25-day countdown, this season is truly the best time of the year. Don’t believe me? Here’s all the evidence you need to prove Christmas is unbeatable.

1. Staying warm might be a problem, but that’s the reason hot cocoa and puffy winter coats were invented.

2. String lights are EVERYWHERE, and it’s gorgeous.

3. People are especially kind, generous, and big-hearted.

4. While your wallet might not be too happy, it’s gift-giving season and, hey, Santa's got most of it covered.

5. There’s an abundance of this weird, white, fluff on the ground, aka the perfect blank slate to craft your magic with snow adventures.

6. The time has come for making messy, delicious Christmas cookies with the family and all its glory.

7. The tradition of hunting for the perfect Christmas tree forces the fam to rise to the challenge once again.

8. You no longer need an excuse to pull out your one-of-a-kind ugly Christmas sweater that’s been shoved in the back of your closet all year, waiting for it’s time to shine.

9. Time to clear the DVR and make room for the never ending supply of cheesy Christmas movies on air 25/7.

10. With Secret Santa exchanges and white elephant parties, the fun never ends.

11. Reunions with your long-lost cousins and MIA grandparents! Seriously, where have they been??

12. It's finally the time of the year to justify dressing up your dog as a reindeer.

13. The joy of seeing giant Christmas trees in malls, town squares, and windowsills is enough to bring tears to eyes.

14. From minty candy canes to peppermint mochas, everything is Christmas flavored and it’s amazing.

15. The sometimes embarrassing, always informative Christmas cards start hitting your mailbox every week and you remember why the United States Postal Service is still around.

16. You can finally jam to the endless stream of Christmas tunes wherever you go without being judged.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
