The Chainsmokers

If you haven't heard about The Chainsmokers, it's about time you have. Not only do they have Cheddar, their adorable Golden Retriever puppy, but they also have some killer songs and remixes that'll make you want to get up and bust a move. Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, more commonly known as The Chainsmokers, were once regular people like you and me. Now it is 2016 and within the past year, they have released several songs, of which "Roses" went double platinum. The Chainsmokers are well known for their hit song "Selfie" and "Kayne." Within the past month they have released "Don't Let Me Down," currently sitting at 73 on the top 100 chart for iTunes alongside number 14, "Roses." They have now become the hottest young American EDM DJ duo.

The Chainsmokers are different from other EDM DJ's because they don't just take the sound a transformer would make and edit it into a beat, they form their own music with a natural sound. The Chainsmokers' music is true music; it has feelings and tells a story. Alex and Drew put in countless hours to their work and pour their heart and tears into making music that everyone will like. Their fans are their lifeline, so their music reflects what their fans want to hear.

Drew attended Syracuse University, and Alex attended New York University. Both had graduated from school not thinking about becoming a worldwide known DJ. Before they were The Chainsmokers, Drew was working at a hot dog stand, and Alex was basically a glorified secretary. Since their beginning, they have come a long way and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. The Chainsmokers have recently built a new full visual screen called "The Full Monte." The Monte is a live set, on which they can stream visuals that go with the seasons. The Chainsmokers' Monte illustrates visuals based on the speed, and feeling of The Chainsmokers song. The Monte is choreographed to The Chainsmokers' performance, and when the music drops, different visuals appear on the screen.

Not only have they released their "Full Monte," but they produce and release an hour long radio segment once a month onto Soundcloud called "Nice Hair Radio." They talk about upcoming events, common questions, stories, and often interview other DJ's. Although other DJ's do this, not all do. During the show, Alex and Drew often crack jokes between each other and talk about what's going on in their lives. Drew and Alex have had the ability to produce music that follows today's trends and to discover new ones as well.

The Chainsmokers are up and coming, taking the music scene by storm. While their hit song "Selfie" might have been an accident, they now owe their success to that accident. The Chainsmokers may not only be the funniest DJ duo, but they are also the most involved. They are so involved with their fans and always looking for ways to adapt their music to their feedback. The chemistry that Alex and Drew have between each other is infatuating. Although they haven't known each other that long, if you were to see them interact with each other, you would assume that they were brothers or had been best friends for a long time. So, take a break and check out The Chainsmokers because I swear you'll regret it if you don't.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
