It's officially that time of year, the Holiday season. The air is becoming unbearably cold and the holiday decorations are out in full swing on Commonwealth Ave. What better way to celebrate than with some holiday songs? Find out what festive song most describes your school in BU!

1. CGS (College of General Studies): “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”

Rudolph is a story of a reindeer who is originally made fun of by the rest but ends up pretty awesome. CGS is sometimes seen as the “lesser” school of BU with nicknames like Crayons Glue Scissors, but in reality, CGS students are not to be underestimated.

2. COM (College of Communication): “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer”

“Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” is one of the most fun holiday songs. Just like COM students, it is outgoing and sure to make everyone laugh. Plus, who else would be able to put such a festive spin on a sad moment better than a COM major?

3. SHA (School of Hospitality Administration): “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

It is no secret that students of SHA know how to be hospitable. The song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is definitely relatable to many BU students in SHA because they are the most welcoming group on campus.

4. Questrom (Questrom School of Business): It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”

Stepping into Questrom can sometimes feel like you are stepping into another world. All of a sudden, everyone is in suits and dressed business professional. The song that most captures this essence of Questrom is, of course, “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas” because all of a sudden everything looks different when you walk through the doors.

5. CAS (College of Arts and Sciences): “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”

Arguably one of the most well known holiday songs, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” is a lot like CAS. With tons of major options, everyone knows at least one person in CAS, just as everyone knows the words to this classic song.

6. ENG (College of Engineering): “Little Drummer Boy"

Engineering students are known to be more profound and focused on their studies. The song “Little Drummer Boy” encompasses the studious spirit of ENG because it is among the more serious of the holiday songs, but still loved by all.

7. SED (School of Education): “Do They Know It’s Christmas”

Even during the holidays SED students are focused on educating people. “Do They Know It’s Christmas” is the perfect blend of festive and informational, just like students in SED.

8. CFA (College of Fine Arts): “Carol of the Bells”

CFA students are as creative as they come. The song “Carol of the Bells” best describes students with a major in CFA because it is definitely the most dramatic holiday song. With all of its eccentricity, “Carol of the Bells,” like CFA majors, is always a production.

9. SAR (Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation): "Walking in a Winter Wonderland"

No matter the situation, Sargent students always know how to stay healthy and fit. “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” is probably the most active holiday song which is sure to win over any Sargent major’s heart.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
