It's the holiday season and everyone is visiting family for the first time in months. To some, Thanksgiving may just be a day to be thankful and hang out with the family, but the day can be so much more. There are many ways to make this Thanksgiving amazing.
Step 1: Get in the Kitchen! It is the best time to bond with mom or grandmom. You may even learn some of the family secret recipes. Just be careful not to burn anything.
Step 2: So you know how to cook already? Have a competition with the head chef to see who can make the best cake and have the rest of the family be the judge. However, try to avoid having the "Gordon Ramsey" of the household around.
Step 3: SOCIALIZE! Everyone is done eating, but that doesn't mean it's time to get out of dodge. Go speak to some of your cousins and uncles. They may have actually changed within the last five months.
Step 4: Eat all you want! Don't let that diet get in the way. Enjoy the food, eat the food, love the food. Get as many plates as you want. One, two, 10, who's counting! You will not have this abundance of food again until Christmas. Take a couple plates home. One for meat, one for sides, and one for desserts. Just don't get too crazy.
Step 5: BE THANKFUL! Hence the holiday's name "Thanksgiving!" Do not forget the true meaning of the holiday. Many people will not have the chance to gather at their family members house with the rest of their loved ones.
Following these steps can make this years Thanksgiving the best one. Switch things up in the kitchen, talk to those crazy family member, stack your plate until you cannot anymore and be thankful. After all, the turkey will make you sleepy. Get a good nights rest because the next time you wake up it will be 3 in the morning, and you will be gearing up for Black Friday. Make this holiday one to remember!
