From food connoisseur to food connoisseur, or maybe in better terms, just snacker to snacker, we have all been there, where the thought of food simply takes over our own ambition to do well. Like an annoying little sibling we can be trying as hard as possible to ignore, there is nothing worse than being half way through an article on "Psychology's Perception On Social Media" and thinking what in the world did I even just read. More often than not, we can put the blame on the chocolate covered almonds we were just thinking about. Well, through experience, here is a list of the best snack foods to eat while studying that satisfy hunger for the time being.

1. Pretzels and humus: Protein in the humus and pretzels for the carbs, pretzels and humus is a perfect snack while studying.

2. Lollipops: While this definitely sounds off-putting, you can catch me studying with a fruity flavored lollipop at all times. Enjoying a lollipop reduces stress by multitasking and can satisfy any sweet tooth.

3. Coffee: The caffeine combined with sugar boosts energy and actually helps with concentration. The variety of coffee flavors also adds a little bit of excitement to a very boring day in the dreaded library. With latte in hand, anything is possible.

4. Popcorn: This filling snack gives the satisfactory of salty chips, yet is less noisy and obnoxious to eat in a crowded study room. Salted or cheesy, popcorn is an excellent choice for a growling stomach.

5. Sushi: For the days when work piles up and there is only quite literally 30 seconds to grab lunch, sushi is the go-to move. Mess free and fresh, to-go sushi from a local Japanese restaurant is a treat for the days when we simply can't spend more than a minute picking out a meal, yet are still starving.

6. Granola bar: From peanut butter chocolate chunk to salted caramel, granola bars are a classic. Tossing them in your bag for later, it is the best finding a granola bar when you are least expecting it in the pocket of your backpack.

Next time your concentration fades and food is the only thing on the mind, try one of these techniques to get back into your study mood, without the distraction of snack cravings.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
