As fall rolls around, we basic white girls can’t help but get excited about all the pumpkin flavors and scents. As we wear our boots, leggings, sweaters, and scarfs, we also take advantage of everything pumpkin-related to embrace the chillier weather and remind ourselves that the holidays are approaching.
Pumpkin French Toast
After making pumpkin french toast, the savory smell will travel throughout your home all day long, but it is the taste that will leave you wanting more. All you need is eggs, butter, milk, cinnamon, and thick slices of bread (as if you were making regular french toast). However, the addition of the two key ingredients, nutmeg and canned pumpkin puree, is what really turns this plain French toast into your new best friend. I’m no Rachael Ray, but I personally like to stuff my French toast with whipped cream cheese mixed with a little vanilla and powdered sugar.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
When the first day of October rolls around, you’ll find me, along with all my many other pumpkin lovers, waiting in line for Starbucks’ one and only pumpkin spice latte. Full of pumpkin and traditional fall spice flavors, espresso and steamed milk, topped with whipped cream and real pumpkin spice flavors, the makeup of the pumpkin spice latte creates an amazing fall drink. While their peppermint mocha is just as delicious and exciting, it replaces everyone’s first-choice fall drink, only leaving us with the memories of our favorite festive flavor.
Pumpkin Candle
Lighting up a pumpkin scented candle is the best way to celebrate fall in your home. Between pumpkin pecan pie, spiced pumpkin, pumpkin pie, or even pumpkin ginger bark, you can’t go wrong with any type of this unique scent and its sweet-smelling aroma. One of my personal favorites, the “3-wick” pumpkin scent from Yankee Candle, is the perfect balance between invigorating and soothing. You’ll feel domestic and at ease as you relax in your living room while kicking up your feet and taking in the unforgettable fragrance soaring throughout the room.
Pumpkin Bread
Whether it’s for breakfast, dessert, or just a snack, pumpkin bread is a delicious delicacy at any point of the day. Between its delectable taste and moist texture dissolving in your mouth, it leaves everyone wanting more. There are also so many ways to spice it up! Adding chocolate chips, powdered sugar, or a brown butter maple icing are just few of my personal favorite ways to spruce up the recipe (yum). The best part about pumpkin bread is that it is not just a staple of fall; it is easily accessible to buy all throughout the year.
