To The Best Friend I Made In College

Did we really meet only eight months ago?

It is crazy to think that I haven't known you forever.

At first you seemed quiet and laid back, but as I got to know you I saw how much we were alike. Thinking about it now, I can't believe the way that both of us have changed since we came to college. We've learned how to deal with our first real world situations together. We didn't realize how close we got until situations occurred that tested our friendship.

We have been through what seems like years together in just a few months. All in all, you've made it certain that I can trust you and I know you'll always be there for me. Even when we sit in my room and watching Grey's Anatomy while eating pizza, we somehow make it into something so much more. We may have gotten ourselves into trouble a few times, but I know that I always have you to stay with me through it all.

I want you to know that it's okay to change your mind on what you want to do for the rest of your life. I want you to know that you're going to make mistakes sometimes. Overall, I just want you to know that I will support you on anything that you choose to do.

We may not agree on some things, but that doesn't make me love you any less. I would never judge you for your actions or your beliefs. Even when I disagree, I'll still respect your opinions and support you through it.

I love that there's always something to learn about you. I love sharing stories with you about my crazy life and hearing that yours is equally as hectic.

I am so thankful to have found you. I had never expected to come to college and meet someone like you who gets me so well. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us and I can't wait to experience life together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
