The Best Disney Songs From The 90s

You know you're a 90's kid when you start singing the songs from these iconic movies, and there are so many! Coming up with this list was so hard. How do you rate them and put some before the others? Too hard and just so difficult.

And, yes, I listened to these while writing.

1. "Human Again"--Beauty and the Beast

"Yes, human again. Think what that means!"

Yeah, there's a technicality here. The song was only included in the film since 2002 when the Special Edition came out. BUT the song was cut from the original film. I know! What were they thinking! The song totally fits because when you look at the moment in the during a break in the song, Bell had just read Romeo & Juliet to the Beast and she first finds out he has trouble reading. The struggles and expectations of being human are all what the song is about! As much as being furniture was difficult, being human again would be a breeze.

2. "Arabian Nights"--Aladdin

The instrumental parts of this song are amazing and very beautifully alluring to the viewer. It just gives me goosebumps when I hear very well-done music and this is one of them! It's a shame it last for about a minute in the film.

3. "I Won't Say I'm In Love"--Hercules

"Sha, la, la, la, haaaa!"

Talk about the humor in this song about being conflicted with your feelings about that special someone. We've all been there, Meg!

4. "Virginia Company"--Pocahontas

Disney loves to be the most awesome songs in the begin of the movie! And they are always so short! Much like this next one...

5. "Steady As The Beating Drum"--Pocahontas

You can't have one song without the other! With both songs present, you can see the similarities and differences between the Colonists and the Natives of Virginia. Both are accustomed to the way they live and are happy. However, the Colonists are leaving their families and the Pocahontas' family and friends in her tribe just came home.

6. "You Got A Friend In Me"--Toy Story

Beautiful, awesome song! More people these days need to have a heart-to-heart and make more of an effort to be friends with different people. Goal: Find a stranger, go have an adventure, and you'll be inseparable.

7. "One Jump Ahead"--Aladdin

You're ony in trouble if you get caught. Good thing Aladdin is one jump ahead with these guards.

8. "A Girl Worth Fighting For"--Mulan

"How 'bout a girl who's got a brain...who always speaks her mind?"

9. "Strangers Like Me"--Tarzan

Phil Collins. Nuff Said.

10. "Be Prepared"--The Lion King

"And where do we feature?" Right here. Here it is, Scar acting fabulous and also channeing some dictatorness. Totally taking the hyenias on a wild chase of their lives. And if you've got time, you should take a look at this video. Someone had loads of time on their hands and made a video of Scar singing "Disturbia".

11. "I'll Make A Man Out Of You"--Mulan

Here is Donny Osmond at his finest. And Shang at his. Mulan's got her hands full of struggles in this segment of the movie, but she refused defeat! Way to be a role model, Mulan, to women everywhere!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
