When it comes to the CW, they’re constantly putting out shows that bring in high ratings and have a way to pull viewers in and causing them to have emotional attachments to most of the characters. If you’re obsessed with the CW like I am, you may have seen episodes or seasons multiple times without getting bored of the plots. Here’s a ranking of the best shows that the CW aired in over the past several years.
10. "Hart of Dixie"
Big City Girl moves to a small town. Zoe Hart, a doctor from New York, makes the move to Alabama to work as a doctor in like the smallest town ever. While going through several ups and downs, Zoe discovers the small town of Bluebell might have even more for her than she thought.
9. "The Originals"
This spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries" follows the original vampires to the town of New Orleans where they take on witches, vampires, and humans that are working to break their empire down.
8. "90210"
A remake of "Beverly Hills 90210," the show follows a new group of high schoolers through some crazy times. With some of the old characters (Brenda and Kelly) making an appearance, it’s as if the show never really ended.
7. "Veronica Mars"
Who doesn’t love some girl power? Taking after her dad, Veronica works as a mini private detective taking down people that have wronged her school mates, and getting involved in some huge cases that put her in some serious danger. Somehow, Veronica always comes out on top winning and solving the case.
6. "Supernatural"
Cute brothers fighting vampires, werewolves, demons, and other supernatural creatures is just as perfect as it sounds. Sam and Dean work together, traveling all over the country to defend people against the creatures that nobody thinks exist. With the help of an angel, this team consists of witty comebacks and some sly humor that can make anyone laugh.
5. "Arrow"
Based off the DC Comic "Green Arrow," the show follows a billionaire playboy, Oliver Queen, after he returns from being shipwrecked on an island for five years. He makes it his mission to take down everyone that has wronged his city in some way, attempting to bring it make to what it was before people began to ruin it with fraud and murders.
4. "The Vampire Diaries"
There’s just something about vampires that is always going to have people interested. Brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore move back to their hometown, Mystic Falls, after being gone for decades. Falling for Elena Gilbert was never a part of their plan but was a huge part in the show. Almost everyone dies and comes back to life a few times and the cast is perfect. With the start of the new season, they have found themselves without Elena as the main character so that’s a huge change for "The Vampire Diaries" fans, but it’s a good one if you were sick of her whining.
3. "Gossip Girl"
The Upper East Side is full of rich, entitled kid in this show, but that doesn’t mean they’re all bad. While the show seems really unrealistic, high schoolers take over New York City all while being blogged about by the infamous Gossip Girl. With crazy parties, crazy comebacks, and some even crazier fights, this is a show that is worth investing lots of time in (probably a binge-watch to be honest).
2. "One Tree Hill"
After nine seasons of "One Tree Hill," we truly discover that there is only one Tree Hill. Starting by following brothers Nathan and Lucas through high school, it brings them together when Lucas gets placed on the basketball team with his estranged brother. Growing closer through the game and close friends, Nathan and Lucas become close and always help each other out no matter what the circumstances is. It follows all of the high schoolers through their relationships, friendships and hardships that most teenagers face. At one season's end, the next seasons pick up after being away in college for four years and places them all together again just trying to find their way.
1. "Gilmore Girls"
It is not hard to understand why "Gilmore Girls" is the best show to air on the CW. The mother and daughter combo, Lorelai and Rory make for the best pair in TV history. Through their ups and downs, they remain best friends and always tell each other everything. The show follows them both through their romantic relationships, school, and their family debacles. Being the very unconventional mother-daughter duo they are, the shows witty comments will keep viewers coming back for more. And if you’re a big "Gilmore Girls" fan, get excited—it was announced they’ll be creating four more hour-long episodes that will be airing on Netflix.
