With over 300 million active monthly users, Instagram is one of the most successful and traffic-heavy modes of social media on the web. With just a tap (or a double-tap!) and a few swipes, users can easily follow and keep up with friends, family, celebrities, and bloggers who post content of their interests, whether those interests lie in sports, photography, travel, beauty, food, or backstage glimpses of a favorite Broadway actor.
One of the most popular interests by far? Fashion blogging! Social media-savvy fashionistas can more easily share their content with the simplicity and accessibility of an app as opposed to typing in the address of a personal website. As for me? Well, I live for those music festival posts and pictures of blurry beaded dresses during New York Fashion Week.
As such, here are just a handful of my favorite alternative/whimsical/edgy/quirky fashion bloggers on the Gram. These ladies aren't defined by a style- they define it themselves, and as a bit of a clothing lover myself, I'm always looking towards them for inspiration...
For the gothic-chic in London: @oliviaemilyx
She's like, "Game of Thrones" meets your favorite rock band meets Salem witch vibes in a totally pull-offable street style sort of way. By incorporating a variety of cuts, textures, and interesting prints, she shows you how to work a head-to-toe black ensemble without looking dull or stereotypical goth. Plus, I'm kind of obsessed with her fiery locks and the charming London gloom (it's a good kind of gloom, I swear) of her green-grey color scheme.

For the grunge-girl in New York: @luanna90
If I had to pick just five favorite Instagrammers, Luanna Perez of the blog Le Happy would make the list without hesitance. I'm always recommending her to people! She knows how to both dress up and dress down while still staying true to her grunge style. She's got the greatest collection of vintage band tees, nineties tattoo chokers, creepers, and quirky rings, and I live for the snaps of her morning cup of black iced coffee (just the way I like it) against the New York city-scape. Not to mention her signature scarlet red-orange mane that inspires some serious hair envy...

For the rogue vogue: @bloodandchanel
Her daring username caught my attention, then her daring platinum do. Sarah Torkornoo and her sleek, classic city style could slide into a throng of New York Fashion Week attendees with ease, but her bold personal touches set her apart and make the look individual, and I love a look that bucks the rules. She's for the bold badasses who still want to work for Anna Wintour while also expressing the spontaneity of youth.

For the metropolitan enchantress: @jaglever
I'm seriously obsessed with the dark Stevie Nicks vibes of Rachel-Marie Iwanyszyn, or Jaglever ("I live" in Swedish!), as she's known by online. This blogger's eclectic style is a captivating mix of grunge, bohemian, vintage, and seventies looks that all come together seamlessly with wide-brim hats and a crazy strong contour. Did I mention that she studied photography, so all of her photos look BOMB?

For the woodland-whimsical: @noelledowning
Noelle Downing looks straight out of a Modcloth ad. This peter-pan collar aficionado owns quirky with her whimsical bags, killer vintage style, and insane hat collection (peep her wall of hats below, at right). While based in Brooklyn, her warm tones of flannel, boots, and coffee mugs always make me feel like I'm in a quaint (albeit very snazzy) cabin. If you like the color red, you'll probably like her.

@noelledowning- a hat wall and literally, the cutest and quirkiest bags. if you like the color red, you'll probably like her.
For the LA edgy: @soothingsista
I discovered Stephanie Villa of Soothing Sista while watching another one of my all-time favorite fashion bloggers, @imjennim's YouTube videos. As best friends, she often made cameo appearances in imjennim's vlogs, and I always thought her personality seemed effortlessly cool, chill, and laid back, so I decided to check her out. Turns out, her style is no different: effortlessly cool and chill, but still sleek. I love seeing the bold makeup looks and florescent locks she's able to pull off!
