Writing has been an art that has been around a very long time. People used to use storytelling as a way of passing the time and teaching others. The stories would often be a basis of their cultures and ways of teaching principles and overall life lessons. Over time, people began to develop a written language and began to write down these fascinating stories. Unfortunately some had been lost due to the events that had occurred over time. And paper decays also, as well as hidden archives. Just overall being lost. When people began writing books, some books stayed in the dust, while others began to be read and recognized and remembered. However, some faded from memory, but they still were a part of literature and the human culture overall. But then in modern times, movies and television shows have become popular. People would love these characters wholeheartedly, and of course, may want more of these characters. Well, of course, there is fanart done by talented artists. But what about the people that like to read? That is where fanfiction comes in. Fanfiction is written by people like me and you and is read by others. Fanfiction has many benefits to aid the writer, here is just a few.

Now, the main question comes in? What is the benefit of writing fan-fiction?There is no direct answer to that. In fact, there are many different answers to that simple question. Fanfiction writing can help aspiring authors. As well as improving writing and using clarity and just nuturing the imagination.

Starting off, have you ever read a book or a rough draft of a book, that was just so unclear and really hard to get through? Like the author used such bombastic vocabulary? It was difficult to get even past the first sentence? But wait, imagine that author is your pal. Like literally your pal who just wanted you to read their writing over. And you know they are really good at writing, however, they just use too many fancy words and tells not shows the reader what is going on.Well writing takes plenty of practice, yes. But people sometimes don't know what to write about, so they turn to their favorite books, television shows, movies and other things that have characters in it and often write stories about that. Like for example,my friend's little sister writes stories about the characters she read about and it is quite an entertaining thing to read. Yes, sometimes fanfiction can be a bit disgusting. But people write their reviews of the author's work, helping the author of the fanfiction learn what not to do next time and what to do next time. Which most definitely helps them sharpen their writing skills. I remember when I used to write only fanfiction and post it on deviantArt and Wattpad, and thanks to those reviews, and the skills I learned, I have become a completely better writer. And if one was to write an original fiction work they would have to have so much detail and planned out writing. While with fanfiction they just have to know the characters and the setting of where they live.

Next, what about nuturing the imagination? Well writers would practice their writing, and use their imagination to give something a little "extra" to their fandom. Like yes writing prompts can be used for writing fanfiction, but it is the author's little twists on things that make it really stand out. And over time, authors would figure out the things they plan out in their mind, and get it written down somehow.

Aspiring authors are often times seen as afraid to post their work and get feedback. They could write an original piece or a fanfiction, it does not matter. But if they are surrounded in the right community, they could feel right at home and post their piece. Of course there will always be that jerk to be not helpful but infact harmful.Aspiring authors can move past this type of hurtful words and move on and learn that not everyone will enjoy their works, which simply put is "Not everyone will find you as their cup of tea". And aspiring authors needed to know that. Such as myself, I know that not everyone will like my work, but in the end as long as there was effort, that is what matters. So the rookie-author would post their work and a whole new gate of opportunities would open up. Which is absolutely amazing.

There are plenty of reasons to write fanfiction. To express your love for a certain show, books, movies, etc. As well as practicing writing skills which will always be needed as life carries on. Or to learn how to move past the hate and just keep trying. Whatever the reason, go out there and try to write one and post it, who knows what will happen if you try.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
