Look If you had One shot Or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted In one moment Would you capture it Or just let it slip?
How many of y'all have had a set plan for your life and have had it been completely turned upside down in a matter of seconds?
At age 22, I think we can all agree that the manual for this "plan" is fairly outdated and the batteries are for sure "each sold separately."
I was playin' in the beginnin', the mood all changed
Pretty much unconsciously putting all of the eggs into one basket and setting the car on cruise control; we trust.
We trust that an employer will want us, that we will pass the CPA without an issue, or taking the MCAT will make or break where we apply for medical school, or simply feeling called to do mission work.
All with good intention, hopes, and dreams.
Okay so I wanna challenge the "plan" with this;
What if that plan does not want you?
What if this 10 year vision is actually a closed door or hard no?
Then what?
Then what are you supposed to turn to?
What holds your identity?
What's the backup plan?
WHERE'D THE 2013 MANUAL GO?!
I been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage
Hurts, doesn't it?
(Knock, knock)
"What happened to trusting the plan, Gina?"
Obedience and submission.
Something I grew up seeing as more of a friendly suggestion.
"Batteries sold separately" if you will.
But I kept rhymin' and stepwritin' the next cipher
To trust in God's timing and direction fully, means trusting that God will place you where it is most uncomfortable in order to optimally serve him.
Discomfort allows you to choose to obey and submit to His plan each and every day.
Best believe somebody's payin' the pied piper
No this is not a test.
No this is not a punishment.
No this is not out of menace or anger.
It simply is God trusting you enough to have fully meant it when you said;
"Thy will be done."
Or
"If He wants it, then so do I."
Think about it.
How often do we pray when life gets tough and plans are in shambles?
Well like most things in life, sometimes it's in giving that we receive something even better then we ever imagined.
For example:
"Life's actually out of order, God...where you at home boy? Help me out please. I'm uncomfortable."
Okay....
Forewarning God could/will most likely respond saying;
"For I know I have plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Side note: I always grew up getting the last word.....always. So my natural thought:
"Are you serious? This failure sounds all too familiar..."
Obedience. Weird concept, huh?
All the pain inside amplified by the Fact that I can't get by with my nine to Five job and I can't provide the right type of Life for my family
It's in the discomfort that you know you are being pushed to grow.
That His plan is not going to lead you to a standstill in life.
Like how exciting you guys!!!!
For me to want to stay in one spot, another jam or not To formulate a plot fore I end up in jail or shot Success is my only option, failures not.
His plan will only make sense through your obedience and submission amongst the discomfort.
Push through.
~See the rainbow, taste the rainbow~
😉
This time I don't get the last word....
****Obedience****
We weren't made for ordinary. We were made to bring the "extra" to ordinary.
Extraordinary.
(Hehe I'm so clever)
Carrying out the ordinary in excellence.
Trusting His plan for you, trusting He will only present the path that glorifies His purpose for you in life. This will ultimately be the most fulfilling.
According to His plan.
So that one day He can truly say;
‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Mom, I love you, but this trail has got to go, I cannot grow old in Salem's lot I cannot grow old in Salem's lot So here I go is my shot Feet fail me not 'cause maybe the only opportunity that I got
So please... before you put all your eggs in one basket, realize that life never goes as planned.
Why?
Success creates Standstill.
Failure creates a Future.
You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime you better...
Lose yourself to gain who you were meant to be.
You can do anything you set your mind to, man
