Snapchat has been a social phenomenon for quite a while, but in college, it is a frenzy and is pretty much essential to the everyday life of a student.

Over the six weeks I’ve been at college, I’ve added probably over 50 people to my list of Snapchat friends.

Everyday, it is full of many different “snaps” that every college kid posts, and you will most likely see at least once in your flow of daily Snapchat stories.

1. The "Sunset" Snap

There’s at least one night a week where there is a super pretty sunset, and if you open Snapchat during this time, your snap stories will consist of story after story of the beautiful sky. Don’t want to go outside? You don’t have to! Snapchat has got your back on this one.

2. The "Starbucks" Snap

At least once every day, there is a snap of someone with their daily Starbucks drink – whether that be a refresher, a Frappuccino, or a coffee.

3. The “I’m Definitely Partying Tonight” Snap

You usually see these on Fridays or Saturdays, and it's usually that one guy who can’t go anywhere without posting 67 different snaps of the same party in a different way.

4. The “I’m a Selfie Queen” Snap

There is most definitely one girl on everyone’s Snapchat flow of stories that posts AT LEAST one selfie a day, but there are days where it could be up to three. It’s EVERY day.

5. The “My Roommates are Crazy” Snap

My roomies and I are particularly guilty of blowing up our stories with these. Whether it be mostly videos or just pictures, there are days when we just can’t help but put our crazy selves out there for all our college people to see.

(Side note to add to this: the night of 10/6/17, we all went out together and a guy we’ve never seen before, who was with our friend, walked up to my roommate and said, “Hey, you’re Lexie, from the NH story!” Come to find out he lives a floor below us and we had no idea. This is what happens when you post the story listed above.)

6. The “I’m Home for the Weekend” Snap

This is mostly a picture of something random with the Geo-Filter of the sender's hometown, and I am guilty of posting this snap more than once. I love being home, and when I am I would like everyone to know. This also goes along with the snaps of you with people in your family that you have been missing, which I am also guilty of. 😊

7. The “Late Night Study Sesh” Snap

This snap usually consists of a laptop, a notebook, a pen, and the snap filter that shows the time, which will usually read about “1:25 AM.”

8. The “Streak” Snap

Not one you see in your story category, but these are a daily thing when you have a snap streak going with someone.

9. The “Game Day” Snap

College game day is freaking huge and hella hype, so when it’s game day, you post it on Snapchat. Whether it be tailgating with your roomies, or the video of the winning touchdown, there will be Snapchats to record the occasion.

These are just a few of the generic Snapchats that you see when you're in college - and let's face it, are most likely the ones that you post as well.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
