Syracuse, N.Y. The Salt City. The city that experiences all four seasons in one day, and the home of the Orange. But there's more to 'Cuse than just that. Here are the ABCs of Syracuse.

Armory Square.

Home to Pastabilities, Urban Outfitters, Sound Garden, the M.O.S.T, and some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. Not to mention, Armory Square also has the best Snapchat geofilters for all of Downtown Syracuse.

Boeheim.

Whether or not you bleed Syracuse Orange, you can't deny the fact that Jim Boeheim is like a second mayor to the city.

Carrier Dome.

Is that a mountain off in the distance? No, it's just the Dome. Home to Syracuse Orange football, basketball, and lacrosse; with a few concerts here and there.

Destiny USA.

Built on a landfill, but it is anything but a dump. You're a true Syracusian if you still refer to it as Carousel Mall.

Everson Museum.

Easily one of the most underrated places in Syracuse. Three floors of beautiful and diverse artwork.

Franklin Square.

Need a location for wedding pictures? Senior portraits? Prom photos? Franklin Square is the place for you!

Gannon's Ice Cream.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Gannon's Ice Cream!

Harrison Bakery.

Half moon cookies. Need I say more?

Ice skating at Clinton Square.

What's better than ice skating downtown under the Christmas tree in one of the most beautiful parts of the city? Exactly, nothing.

Jazz Fest.

You won't be feelin' blue after groovin' on Onondaga Community College's lawn.

Kitty Hoynes.

One of, if not the, most iconic bars downtown. It makes everyone feel a little Irish.

Lights on the Lake.

There's not a more beautiful sight than driving down the highway and seeing the other side of Onondaga Lake lit up. Nothing gets you more in the holiday spirit than Lights on the Lake.

M.O.S.T.

The Museum of Science and Technology is a child's dream come true. Fun and interactive science displays, an IMAX theater, and a huge playhouse!

New York State Fair.

Fried Dough, Midway, $1 baked potatoes, Sand Sculpture, Chevy Court, Wine Slushies, Doughnut Burgers, Deep Fried Oreo's, Butter Sculpture, Quarter milk.

Onondaga Lake.

It may be the most polluted lake in the country, but it's still the best place to run, roller blade, or take a bike ride. It even has a dog play park, a huge playground, a skate park, a museum, and an amphitheater!

Palace Theatre.

One of the mini time capsules in Syracuse. Great place to see a movie and not break the bank.

Quite the place.

Syracuse may have the most unpredictable weather, but it's a great city to live and raise a family. It's a city full of great food, festivals, and fun for everyone!

Railroad bridge art.

The railroad bridges in Syracuse are like no other. Steve Powers', "Love Letters to Syracuse," are simply stunning.

Syracuse Orange.

We bleed orange, enough said.

Taste Of Syracuse.

Easily the best festival of the year. All of the best food in the city, in one place, for a cheap price. Doesn't get better than that!

Upside down traffic light.

Where else are you going to find a traffic light with green on the top? No where!

Varsity Pizza.

The best pizza in the world, hands down.

War Memorial.

Home to the Syracuse Crunch.

Excellent restaurants.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. Modern Malt. Pastabilities. Empire Brewery. Lemon Grass. Funk 'n Waffles. Alto Cinco. Francesca's Cucina. Delmonico's. Kitty Hoynes. Is your stomach growling yet?

Yearly snowfall.

Snowiest city in the United States with an average of 110 inches every year.

Zoo.

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Rosamond Gifford Zoo is the best, but dollar day makes it even better.

Now you know your Syracuse ABC's! It's important to know Syracusian's favorite letters are S and U. We bleed orange, so are you really surprised? Go Orange!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
