Post-concert depression.
We've all heard of it, and we've all probably experienced it. If you haven't felt it then you're probably lying to yourself.
You get to see your favorite band or artist live and all of a sudden it's like, "Holy cow. They are actually real and not just figments of everyone's imaginations." Then the concert is over, and you go home to relish in what you've heard for a few hours. Maybe it's the next day, or maybe it's as soon as the house lights come on and the stage crew starts moving equipment. It will hit you though.
When it does, watching the 8 second video you took of Tyler Joseph singing "But I know we've made it this far, kid" a million times will definitely not help.
So thanks to Alternative Press. They finally put what we've all been feeling into words.
1. Euphoria
You have survived, and you are now on cloud nine.
2. Reflection
This takes the form of thinking about what you've just experienced or singing along to those songs again in the car on the way home with your friends.
3. Realization
Suddenly, you come crashing down from cloud nine because you'll never experience this again.
4. Reality
The next day as you try to go back to the real world.
5. Feeling outcasted
You just want to talk to someone about it, but no one will listen because anyone who wasn't there too doesn't care.
6. Stalking
So you'll turn to hashtags on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and creep on other fans experiencing what you did or even on the artist/band themselves.
7. Lack of impulse control
Buying tickets to another show seems like the perfect idea, right?
8. Acceptance
Your bank account will you bring you back to the real world real quick. It will be OK, though.
9. Living
You've now survived Post Concert Depression. You've returned to living life and looking back to your photos and videos without crying. Congrats!
Until you do it all over again with the next one.
