The 7 Types of Girls You'll Meet at a Live-Out

Freshman year night-life comes with dancing in cages, dancing on each other, dancing on tables, and even possibly swinging on a pole or two...all while in the basement of a fraternity house. As a freshman, fraternity parties seem like the coolest thing, and once Monday hits, you can’t wait for it to be Friday so you can do it all over again.

Over time, you begin to get used to the huge, dark, humid room, and you come to realize the fraternity basement for what it really is – a huge, dark, humid room. So one night, you go out with a different group of friends and you don’t go to a good old fashioned fraternity party, you go to a small house where a few fraternity brothers live, also known as a “live-out.” With this new milestone in life comes new types of people. There are types of girls you will meet at fraternity party, and everyone knows what they are like. Then there are the types of girls you will meet at a live-out. They are totally different. Here are the 7 types:

1. Loud Mouth Lauren: This is the girl who is bouncing around the house and talking to everyone...but doesn’t know anyone. She will probably come up to you at random and talk your head off about nothing. She’ll tell you how pretty you are, hug you and then walk away suddenly. However, when she talks to everyone, she’s yelling in their ear and doesn’t realize it, though everyone else does. She says “OMG” in between every sentence, and appears to have come to the party alone. Avoid her or she will cling to you.

2. Cell Phone Cindy: This is the girl who always finds some way to be on her phone for the whole night. She’s usually on the phone trying to give her friends instructions on how to get to the party. She’s easy to spot because she’ll be standing in the corner with her eyes scrunched trying to see her iPhone screen. Her friends will try to get her to dance with them or go mingle, but she’ll just insist for them to hold on, by casually throwing up her index finger every 10 minutes.

3. Suddenly Shy Sarah: This girl is so used to the darkness of a fraternity basement, that she doesn’t know how to act now that she’s in the light of a live-out. She doesn’t talk to anyone, except for the group of girls she came with. She occasionally will play with her hair, usually seen standing and looking around.

4. Flirty Felicia: This is every girl’s worst nightmare. Just when a cute boy comes up and starts talking to you, this girl will steal him, so casually. She’ll run up to him, yell his name as if she hasn’t seen him in years, throw her arms around his neck and hug him for like 2 minutes. She starts talking his head off, and batting her Sephora eyelashes as if you aren’t even there, and you have no other choice but to just walk away.

5. Bedroom Becca: This is the girl that is either a.) Best buddies with the guys that live in the house, or b.) Just met the guys and became best buddies with them instantly. She usually spends the whole night in the room with a few people just rocking out to some music, talking, relaxing. She may not even know that there’s an actual party going on downstairs.

6. Hot Mess Hannah: This girl can’t function. At this point, her friends have been filling her cup with water, and she doesn’t even notice. She’s stumbling all over the place, spilling her water on everyone, stepping on everyone’s toes, and getting on everyone’s nerves. She will grab onto the nearest thing, or person in order to gain some stability, and whenever someone asks her if she’s okay, naturally she says she’s fine with glazed eyes and a fake smile. She’s bound to get sick soon, so do all that you can to stay away from her.

7. Emotional Emily: This girl is arguing with anyone and everyone, and loves it. The slightest thing can set her off and make her go off. Accidently nudge her while waiting in that long line to use the bathroom? Oh you better prepare. She chock-full of attitude and ready to use it. This is also the girl that will be crying outside on the front porch by the end of the night because her best-friend is playing Pong with the boy that she’s had her eye on all night, but hasn’t told anyone about her interest in him.

You're bound to meet at least one of these types of girls at some point in your life, so prepare yourself.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
