If you're anything like me, then your group of friends is probably a very diverse group. Though they may all be different, they all bring their own special presence to your life. Their difference actually brings balance. And you know that if even one them was missing, your life wouldn't be the same. Here are the seven types of friends that all of us lucky souls are blessed to have.
1. The enabler friend
You know your friend who basically supports every stupid decision you've ever made? Yep, that's your enabler friend. Even though it may seem like they are an unhealthy part of your life at times, you know that you couldn't live without them. Sometimes we have to make mistakes in order to learn something. So that's why its always great to have our enabler friend there to support us when we're right and especially when we might be wrong.
2. Your second mom
On the other hand, we also all have that friend who we hate to disappoint. We know they are far more wiser and thoughtful then we may ever be. So when we actually need some legitimate advice, your second mom is the first friend you turn to. If your enabler friend is the fun parent, then this friend is the exact opposite. They will be the first person to let you know when they think you're doing something stupid. But you know that they will also be the first person to defend you when that stupid boy fails to see how awesome you truly are. Just like your actual mom, they just have your best interest at heart and you know that's why you'll always love them.
3. The total clown
I think it's fair to say that we could all use a good laugh from time to time. Which is exactly why we keep our total clown friend as close to us as possible! This is your friend who literally could do the simplest thing, but it would still make you laugh. They just have a way of talking or acting that seems to be more amusing than normal humans. They know how to make you laugh when all you want to do is cry. And you know that they would never be the reason for your tears, unless you're crying because of something hilarious they did. Either way, this is one of your favorite friends and you definitely wouldn't trade them for the world.
4. Your polar opposite
Sometimes we all need a different perspective in order to get through the harder parts of life. That's why you always keep someone who is your polar opposite in your close circle. Sure, you may disagree on just about everything. But you also wouldn't understand another person point of view without their help. They help you try new things and get out of your comfort zone. And you don't even want to consider all the wonderful things you might have missed out on if it hadn't been for them.
5. Your work/school friends
Let's be honest, we all have someone like this in our lives. That person who we truly enjoy either at school or work, but we know we'd probably never spend our weekends together. And it's not because we don't like them as much or anything like that. It's simple because this is where our friendship started, so most of the time that is where they stay. Sometimes, on very rare occasions, these kinds of friendships can make it outside of these boundaries. But more often than not, your work/school friends will always remain your work/school friends. The common setting gives you something to talk about. After all, if you're not complaining about that professor or co-worker you both despise, then what will you talk about?
6. The lifetime friend
For those of us who are really lucky, there's that one friend who has truly been there for it all. They know how much you've changed over the years because they been there right beside you the whole time. From being tiny tots in kindergarten, to being big bad seniors in high school. They've been there for everything. And you know that for the two of you, that's just the beginning. They've truly known you your whole life and at this point, they're more than just your good friend. They're family.
7. Your travel buddy
Finally, we all need an adventure partner. Someone we could go anywhere with and still have a good time. That friend you call in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday and ask to go on a last minute weekend getaway trip. The person we get to experience the world and all its magical places with. Your friend who knows all your dream vacations because theirs are the exact same. You know you can always call your travel buddy whenever you need a new adventure to take you away from the mundane parts of life. They keep things interesting. And you know that they'll never let you get stuck in the same place for very long. They help you grow in a way you never thought possible. And that is something you will never take for granted.
