Fast forward past syllabus week and it is safe to say that waking up for morning classes are no easy task. In fact, getting up for 8:30s only becomes progressively harder as the semester goes on.
I do not even like social interaction before 10 a.m., never mind learning.
1. Insomnia
Just one more episode -- I have to be rested for class tomorrow! Oh God, is the sun coming up already? Damn you, Netflix.
2. The alarm
I cannot do this. Should I skip? Yeah, I'm skipping. Wait, I skipped last class. Damn it. Ok, I am going, but just five more minutes.
3. Denial
You finally get up only to realize that you have, one, overslept and, two, look like you have been electrocuted. When did it get so late?! Maybe I can set a record for how fast I can get ready.
4. Getting dressed
All of your outfits are inadequate so you settle with the “I’m going to scare everyone who comes into contact with me today” look.
5. Speeding to class
Road rage consumes you as you race to class. God help you if you cannot find a close parking spot.
6. Coffee?
You know that coffee is your only chance of survival, so you stop at the cafe even though you have negative thirty seconds to spare.
7. Success
You arrive, cup in hand, feeling slightly accomplished, but mostly tired, cranky, and disheveled.
Congrats!
