Potatoes, one of the world’s staple crops, is affordable, full of vitamins, and can also be used in non-edible ways. For example, the Incas used raw grated potatoes or potato juice to treat frostbite and sunburns. Potatoes can be eaten in an infinite amount of forms, shapes, and sizes, but I’ve listed the five ultimate best ways to utilize potatoes.
1. French Fries
Oh, french fries… one of America’s most eaten foods. They not only pair well with literally anything (savory and sweet) but also is delicious eaten alone. The easy accessibility, process of making, and price make it all the reasons why it’s one of the best ways to use potatoes.
2. Hash Browns
Similar tasting and process to its relative, the french fry, the one and only hash brown is just as scrumptious. It is the best complement to any breakfast sandwich and is the best tasting when dipped in ketchup.
3. Potato Pancakes
OK, first of all, foods in pancake form are magnets that attract people’s appetites. It doesn’t matter if they’re normal old-fashioned pancakes or vegan pancakes, they’re all mouthwatering. Not to mention POTATO PANCAKES, the best pancakes of all.
Why? Well, the greatest food of all time made in the best form possible creates the absolute most appetizing cuisine. The best part is that it’s appropriate to be eaten for all meals of the day.
4. Mashed Potatoes
Traditionally eaten at family gatherings and Thanksgiving dinner, mashed potatoes are the perfect side dish. It is paired well with any savory dish and the best dipped in gravy. Turkey, mac-n-cheese, and fried chicken are my favorite complement dishes.
5. Baked Potatoes
Made in the simplest and easiest way, baked potatoes are easy to adjust the taste to. For example, to add some pizzazz to your baked potatoes, butter, shredded cheese, sour cream, and bacon are only a few melt-in-your-mouth toppings out of infinite options to place in your hot and steamy baked potatoes.
Nonetheless, potatoes made in any shape or form are going to taste heavenly!
