Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services, filled with incredible original series and past seasons of old shows. There is no denying that the best feeling is falling in love with a series and finding out that the past seasons are streaming on Netflix. However, finding out that a series you love is on Netflix comes with a price, and that price is addiction. I took it upon myself (for the greater good of this article, of course) to live the life of a Netflix binge watcher. Here are the five stages of becoming a Netflix binge watcher.
Stage 1: Searching for the MVP
The MVP of Netflix is the person who actually pays for the Netflix account. You know, the person who has one profile for themselves but four other profiles for family, friends and the random guy that lives around the corner. Once you find this person, you are set to start your Netflix experience. Don't forget to thank your MVP for enabling your soon-to-be Netflix addiction! (Thanks, bro!)
Stage 2: Decision Making
All of your friends are telling you different shows to choose from, but you are torn. You just don’t know which one to pick. You are stuck between five new series or that one series that you know all the words to every episode. It's just too stressful to figure out which one to pick!
Stage 3: Getting sucked into the black hole
So, you found your show. Yes, it is now your show. You have claimed it, related to it and even cried with it. You are one with the show. There is no time to stop now. One more episode won't hurt, right? It's ONLY 3:30 in the morning...
Stage 4: Avoiding adulthood
Don’t lie, there has been at least one (or hundreds) of times when you cancelled those Friday night plans, pushed aside papers or faked being sick from work, just to sit in and binge the entire season of a show. It's OK, though, we all need some time to run from our responsibilities.
Stage 5: Becoming one with Netflix
You have finished the entire series. You cried, laughed, screamed and felt for the characters of the show. You have come to the end of the road. Where do you go now? What do you do next? Begin a new show of course! You are hooked and you won't be stopping anytime soon. You are now a Netflix professional, embrace it!
