We all have a group chat with our friends. And if you don’t, then I’m sorry that you have no friends. But anyway, these stupidly-named chats are filled with laughs, fights, drama, and itineraries of the upcoming weekend. Although it may be placed on “Do Not Disturb” 90% of the time, we would not trade our friend group chat for anything. If these five things aren't present in your group chat, than you might as well just leave it.
1. The roast.
Every friend group chat has a roast of at least one participant. This is when embarrassing moments and pictures are fair game. This is all fun and games until that one friend takes it too far and the whole group chat is like “damn” and the people not getting roasted text that person on the side to say how funny that was (but they are always too afraid to say it in the chat). You may also take this moment to consider if these people are really your friends.
2. The separate chat.
The separate chat exists when two people talk about how stupid the rest of their group chat is or when someone is being so annoying that you can’t help but make fun of them in private.
3. The one friend who gets ignored.
This is the friend that can send countless texts and totally accept the fact that everyone has seen the messages and refuses to answer to their stupidity. They will probably send something annoying like “heloooo” or “thanks guys just ignore me.”
4. The one friend who doesn’t answer.
This is the friend who the other friends question why they’re even in the chat to begin with if they never answer. This friend is probably the one starting all the separate chats.
5. The discussion of relationship problems.
Nobody likes to deal with the whining of his or her friend in a relationship, but we can agree that it is entertaining and it makes you feel better about your life. After someone is done venting his or her problems, the one friend who should be the last person on this planet to ever give relationship advice usually goes all Dr. Phil (cue the private chats).
