Congrats, you've survived the first month at college. Whether you're a freshman or a senior, the first month back is a make or break month. You've started your work flow, you've actually gone to the library and cracked down on your homework, and maybe, you're even close with your roommate and have had a few bonding nights. But, how are you going to keep up with the work? As the semester goes on, you've gotten comfortable, but here's an accurate summary of how you're probably feeling right about now...
1. It has only been a month????
Yeah, hard to believe, but you've only been/been back at school for a month. It may feel like you've been here for maybe three months, but yes, it only has been one. In this first month, you may already feel like your roommate is either your worst enemy or your best friend.
2. Overstressed and under budget with time
You have three papers, two books to read, and only about an hour to do it all. So, you have the mental panic attack and cry for about five minutes, then go to class, completely talk your way through all of it, and walk out like the champion you are.
3. The MARIST PLAGUE HAS BEGUN
After the first month, people usually begin to feel themselves succumb to the horrible illness that is "THE MARIST PLAGUE". Your throat is sore, you feel the cold coming, your nose is dripping, you want to spend all day in bed, and health services says there's nothing they can do.
4. FREEDOM IS YOURS!
Technically, you no longer have parents to report to, so THERE'S NO RULES (well, of course you have homework and are not dying, so there's, like, two rules, but you get what I mean). You have no one to respond to, but don't get too crazy with the freedom.
5. Welcome Home :)!
Welcome to Marist. If you're a sophomore, junior or senior, enjoy being back with your friends and resuming clubs that you love. If you're a freshman, welcome to the next and best four years. You will make so many memories here at Marist, consisting of best friends, relationships, and adventures that you'll always cherish. Sophomores, we finally know how to get around campus(!), we have kitchens (at least most of us do), and there's only one RA per block. Juniors, you've got the experience, and now you're teaching the rest of us to be better, as well as giving us tips on how to apply for internships and prepare for real world jobs. Seniors, you will cherish every second of your last year, and tell the rest of us to hold onto those last days, because college really is the best time in your life, and there's no better way to spend it than being a Red Fox!
