We've all felt them.

13 Worst Feelings Every Commuter Student Has

For anyone who commutes to college, we all know there are both ups and downs to living off-campus. It's great to be able to go home at the end of each day and see your family and pets, and sleeping in your own huge, comfortable bed is definitely a major plus. The food is undeniably better at home too, since nothing beats a nice home-cooked meal. But sometimes, no matter how much you enjoy commuting, things happen throughout the day to make you regret your decision. Here are just a few of the worst feelings you can experience as a commuter:

1. When everyone in your group for your group project wants to meet at 8 pm on a Sunday night because it's when they're all free.

Don't you understand I commute?!

2. Or when you're the only commuter in your group, so the whole group has to plan meetings around the times you're on campus.

Sorry, I'm so difficult.

3. When you wait for what seems like forever for the express bus to the main parking lot and the line gets cut off RIGHT before you get on.

The start of any bad day.

4. The same situation as above - except it's raining.

I want to cry just thinking about it.

5. When you're finally done for the day but because of traffic, it takes an extra half hour to get off campus.

Leaving at 5:20 is always a bad idea.

6. When it's been a long day and you just want to nap between classes, but there's nowhere to nap.

There's always the couches in the commuter lounge, but you just feel awkward.

7. When you travel all the way to campus, check your emails and realize your only class was canceled.

Ugh.

8. Or even worse - when your professor cancels class right as you get to campus.

Couldn't you have told us an hour ago?!

9. When you're starving and just want to buy lunch, but any decent meal is at least $10.

No, I don't have dining dollars or meal swipes.

10. When you want to move your car so you won't have to take the express bus after class, but the line just isn't worth waiting on.

By the time you actually get to your car, you'll be late to class.

11. When there's a club you really want to join, but they meet at 9 pm on Tuesday nights.

Thank you, but no thank you.

12. When you stay on campus really late to study and suddenly remember you still have to drive home.

I have to be back at 8 am, so I might as well just sleep here.

13. When you have to wake up hours before your 8 am class to make sure you're there on time.

Who needs sleep anyways?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
