This weekend was our school's Spring Fest (We call it Siena Fest, #gosaints), which basically just means we soaked up some sun, hung out, and drank for 48 hours. All. Day. The. Whole. Weekend. Now, it's totally not a requirement to drink, and there's lots of fun things going on instead....but A LOT of people do it. Including myself (Hey, I'm 21, You can't judge me.)
I don't even know where this tradition of just being drunk all day came from, but it's honestly really difficult for me to keep up with it. I go through so many stages of sobriety, which can put me in a super cranky mood. College, man.
Well, after a full Saturday of drinking, I thought I'd write something for everyone to remember their weekend by, because memories only last if you were sober. Well, at least mine don't. Thank God for Snapchat.
And, if you're not a drinker, consider this a good reason to stay that way.
Here are the 12 Stages of Day Drinking:
1. Attempting to wake yourself up to not waste any precious drinking time. (This is probably the only time I will wake up for 12 on a weekend.)
2. Figuring you probably should eat something, but not wanting to make anything.
3. Trying to get past those first few sips at 10 AM. (This is my biggest struggle.)
4. Making yourself look presentable before the alcohol kicks in. At least, Sort of.
5. Heading outside with your friends so the shenanigans can begin.
6. Realizing you're not nearly as drunk as you should be...
7. ...and remedying that with excessiveness.
8. Realizing you got way too drunk too quickly.
9. Finding Food. Especially Free Food.
10. Fighting the "after food' exhaustion.
10. Embracing the second wave of energy. (Possible side effects include: thinking you're really good at beer pong, and/or a good dancer.)
11. Making bad decisions. (Trying to fight someone, hopping fences, etc.)
12. aaaannddd Crashing...again. Probably after another meal.
Okay, so maybe this is just MY experience with day drinking. But, honestly, what a day I had yesterday. Anyone else feel me?
p.s. Please Drink Responsibly. Seriously.
