As Thanksgiving is right around the corner, along comes the phenomenon of Black Friday. Stores all across the country open their doors in the late hours of the night to let in the crazy shoppers for the outrageous sales. Whether you’re a Black Friday enthusiast, or a mere first-timer, the chaos of the night is bound to leave you excited for the upcoming Christmas season. From victories to breakdowns, Black Friday will definitely be a whirlwind of fun.

1. It’s Thursday night and the squad is hyped and ready to go.

“I got that sunshine in my pocket, Got that good soul in my feet”

—Justin Timberlake, “Can’t Stop The Feeling”

2. You’re camped out and patiently waiting for the stores to open.

“We were sleeping in cars, searching for Oz. . . till we saw the sun.”

–OneRepublic, “Kids”

3. It’s finally midnight, so you rush into the store, overwhelmed by the beauty of sales.

“Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? . . .I’ve got gadgets and gizmos aplenty.”

The Little Mermaid, “Part of Your World”

4. The crowd isn’t too heavy yet and you find the perfect shoes in your size.

“All I do is win win win no matter what. Got money on my mind I can never get enough.”

—DJ Khaled, “All I Do Is Win”

5. You snag the last half-priced sweater and smile at the lady who just gave you a death glare.

“Put out the fire before igniting, next time you’re fighting, Kill ‘em with kindness.”

—Selena Gomez, “Kill em With Kindness

6. As soon as you see this amazing camera, so does that guy across the aisle and the race is on.

“This is my fight song. Take back my life song.”

—Rachel Platten, “Fight song”

7. A girl comes out of nowhere to shove you out of the way and take the camera for herself.

“Why you gotta be so rude? Don’t you know I’m human too?"

—Magic! “Rude”

8. The loss hurt, but you keep going because the night isn’t over yet.

“The haters gonna hate hate hate, baby I’m just gonna shake shake shake, I shake it off.”

—Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off”

9. Your squad starts getting tired, yet you must convince them to persevere.

“I don’t wanna be the last man standing, I don’t wanna be the lonely one.”

—Tori Kelly, “Hollow”

10. It’s time for the final play of the game; that gorgeous purse is calling your name, but too soon you get run over by the masses.

“I’ve been trying to fix my pride . . . but I’m at an all time low.”

—Jon Bellion, “All Time Low”

11. All hope is not lost, though, because your friends come to the rescue and save you from the crowd.

“Never let you go, never let me down. Don’t you give up.”

—DJ Snake and Justin Bieber, “Let Me Love You”

12. Finally, you return to the car and realize it’s officially Christmas season and all your holiday shopping is already done.

“Forget what the people say, It’s time for the holiday, Throw up your seats let’s deck the halls.”

—Pentatonix, “The Christmas Sing-Along”

No matter the outcome, Black Friday is a great time to experience great sales and get into the Christmas spirit with friends. Get your game plans ready to take advantage of the awesome sales.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
