The 10 Worst Episodes Of Simpsons Seasons 1-4
Independent

Last week, I did a list on the best episodes of Simpsons seasons 1-4. I have no funny lead in to this list so here is the 10 worst episodes of seasons 1-4.

Number 10: Marge In Chains. Originally Aired May 6, 1993. Written by Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein and Directed by Jim Reardon.

We start this list off with an episode written by future show runners Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein. Now keep in mind I like this episode. I find it to be funny and I always love Phil Hartman as Lionel Hutz. But there is one thing that makes me absolutely have to put it on a worst of list. The episode focuses around Marge accidentally putting a bottle of alcohol in her coat pocket and getting accused of shoplifting. When Homer goes to Apu to straighten things out Apu responds "No Offense, but we're putting that bitch on ice." When I first heard that line I was filled with a sense of rage that a character like Apu could do something like that to Marge. And I hate Marge as a character sometimes.

Number 9: Blood Feud. Originally July 11, 1991. Written by George Meyer and directed by David Silverman.

Mr Burns has something nice done to him and naturally doesn't do the right thing. I mean after reading the background for the episode being a real life inspiration of a coworker needing a blood transfusion, I should like the simplicity of the episode but I can't get behind two things. One, Bart actively screws over Homer in this episode and Mr Burns' normal scrooge like antics really get to me in this episode, until of course the obligatory happy ending.

Number 8: Some Enchanted Evening. Originally aired May 13, 1990. Written by Matt Groening & Sam Simon and Directed by David Silverman & Kent Butterworth.

I don't care for this episode and apparently neither did the creators. Supposedly the animation for this episode came back super bad enough for this pilot intended episode to be aired as the finale because of the time it took to fix. That being said, the execution is what makes me like it the least. The plot is fine sure, Homer and Marge go on a date, and hire a sketchy baby sitter that turns out to be a convict on the run. I remember watching this episode the least out of all the season 1 episodes except the pilot. Didn't hit it off with me. Just a big meh.

Number 7: The War of the Simpsons. Originally Aired May 2, 1991. Written by John Swartzwelder and directed by Mark Kirkland.

I like literally one or two jokes from this episode. The rest of it annoys me. It's another Marge and Homer have marital issues episode and frankly both a problem in this episode. Homer is a jerk, and Marge is overbearing. Neither is likable to me. There really is not much more to say.

Number 6: Lisa's Pony. Originally Aired November 7, 1991. Written by Al Jean and Mike Reiss and Directed by Carlos Baeza.

In the early days I got along with Lisa as a character. I can't stand her now but in the past she was tolerable. This is one of those few episodes where she isn't. Homer messes and makes her look like an idiot, something that has happened before. This time she refuses to speak to Homer or even love him. Homer buys her love and nearly dies doing it working damn near 24 hours a day between two jobs. Lisa extremely annoyed me in this episode. Thankfully she got better partially, well except for...

Number 5: Lisa the Greek. Originally aired January 23, 1992. Written by Jay Kogen and Wallace Wolodarsky and Directed by Rich Moore.

Oh Hey Lisa's back. Yeah. Lisa is annoying again and her relationship with her father is getting on my nerves. Just another episode where Lisa hates Homer for a little bit. Not much more to say.

Number 4: Itchy and Scratchy and Marge. Originally Aired December 20, 1990. Written John Swartzwelder and Directed by Jim Reardon.

You might remember I put this on the best of list. Well to tell the truth, Marge is incredibly annoying and overbearing in this episode. That is all.

Number 3: Bart's Dog Gets an F. Originally Aired March 7, 1991. Written by John Vitti and Directed by Jim Reardon.

I hate Santa's Little Helper. He's annoying and ruins the family's lives. In this episode it is entirely dedicated to him ruining something of all the Simpsons (except Bart) by destroying their personal belongings. And of course it ends with a happy ending despite the entirety of it being misery

Number 2: So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show. Originally Aired April 1, 1993. Written by John Vitti and Directed by Carlos Baeza.

This had to be on here. It's a clip show. Maybe 35% of the show is new animation. The crew hated making this episode. I don't hate it, but it's a clip show and it's lazy. But there's one episode that is worse than it.

Number 1: Dog of Death.Originally Aired March 12, 1992. Written by John Swartzwelder and Directed by Jim Reardon.

Like I said I hate SLH. He needs an operation, the money spent on him could have gone to other things that all the other characters need and they are worse off for it. The characters LITERALLY say that if they hadn't saved him, they would have been better off in life. I can't think of a better reason to hate an episode.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
