Everyone has their own personal circle of friends. Even Biz Markie once rapped, "'cause I have friends and that's a fact, like Agnes, Agatha, Germaine, and Jack." While you might not be trying to defend that your friend is "just a friend," and their names may not be Agnes, Agatha, Germaine, or Jack, such as the case in Biz Markie's hit song "Just a Friend," it is likely that you and yours have specific roles in the group (whether you're aware of it or not). Despite whatever role you play in your group, you know that you and your best friends will be together until the end of time, probably living together on Friendship Street.
1. The #1 Best Friend

2. The Sibling
You and this friend have surpassed the level of friendship and treat each other as brother/sister. You incessantly bully and tease each other, but at the end of the day, you know who always has your back and who can give you the best advice. Your sibling-like bond is one that can't be broken - (hypothetical) blood is thicker than water.
3. The Flakey One
This is the friend that can't commit to anything. He or she is always the best to be around, and you constantly desire his or her attention, but you can never be quite sure what he or she is up to. Sometimes this friend makes multiple plans and you're not sure which one he or she plans on going to and at what time, but it is more likely that this friend will not even show up anywhere, because he or she is just a flakey person.
4. The Friend Since Birth
You and your childhood best friend have shared memories that cannot compete with any other friend you have. You grew up together, learning valuable life lessons along the way. You will never be able to forget this friend, especially because there is no chance that you can lose him or her. You're stuck together from beginning to end.
5. The Mom/Dad
The person who acts like your parent is your favorite and least favorite friend. Sure he or she isn't always the most fun as he or she tries to act like the mature adult in every situation, but at the same time this is the friend that has made sure you haven't died yet. This could be whether you're getting too crazy at a party or just want to make another reckless decision. No one likes a friend that paces him or herself, but you wouldn't be where you are now without this friend.
6. The One Always MIA
Not even Find My Friends can locate where this friend is. He or she rarely answers calls or texts and in the off-chance that he or she does, it's likely that he or she still will not hang out with you. The few times a year you see this person are the best days, but he or she makes it seem like it would be easier to schedule a dinner with the President.
7. The High School Friend
Admit it, we all have those friends that we talked to every day in homeroom, but once graduation hit, you barely spoke. However, once winter break rolls around the corner, this high school peer suddenly becomes your best friend again and you do all the sometime things together again, like sit at each other's houses and reminisce about high school drama.
8. The College Friend
This is the friend you graduated high school to attend. He or she is the person you truly experience life and freedom with and you will likely be friends for the rest of your lives. This person knows your embarrassing freshman year stories and is still willing to be your friend and go out with you every night (probably just so you can do more embarrassing things). While you will likely become best friends with someone in college, it is rare that he or she will overtake the role as primary best friend.
9. The Party Invite
It's a Saturday night and you're in college so obviously it's time to take a shot and text the party friend! The most fun friend keeps you in the loop about everything that is going on every night of the week. Sure, you may never speak to this friend during the week, but once the weekend hits, your walking, talking party invite is the best friend you could ever have.
10. The Frenemy
Let's be honest, everyone has that one friend that you're just not really friends with. You get along for the sake of getting along, but there's really nothing you have in common with the frenemy and you know that you two will just really never get along and truly be genuine friends. You may have a good time once in a while, but you should always keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
