Thank You To My Family

Dear Family,

You four are the most amazing people in the world. You have all done so much for me and I am beyond grateful for it all.

Mom and Dad,

I wanted to take a moment and just thank you for everything you two have done for me. You have provided food for me, a roof over my head, and you have given me your love. I know at times I'm not the best daughter, but I want you two to know how grateful I am for everything.

From the day I was born, you both have loved me with all of your heart. You two have spoiled me so much and I know I don't say it enough, but thank you. If I didn't have you two as my parents, I think I'd be lost. I love you two to the moon and back.

I want to thank you for always supporting me in my decisions and always knowing how to cheer me up when I'm down. You have always been there for me and I regret never saying thank you enough. You are the best parents in the whole world.

Jimmy,

Even though I get on your nerves, I know you still love me. You are the best brother a girl could ever have (especially since you look like Tom Hanks!). You have driven me to and from all sorts of places; friends' houses, the movies, lunch, etc. I want to thank you for doing the things that you don't have to do, but you do anyway because you want to see me happy.

Thank you for having Family Guy marathons with me and always trying to make me laugh. Thank you for FaceTiming me and instead of talking to me, showing me my best furry friend. Yes, I know. I'm on buddy duty when I come home.

You are the best of the best when it comes to amazing brothers. I love you bro and thank you again for everything you have done for me.

Pap,

Thank you for being my best buddy and always doing things for me to make me happy. You never get the thanks you deserve and you deserve to know how thankful I am for how much you do for not just me, but for all of us.

You drive me places, you offer to take me out to lunch when we're out and about, and you're always there for us. I am so thankful to have such an amazing grandfather. Yes, I know I don't help out a lot with dishes, but I will once I'm home again for summer time (yeah, right). I'm just kidding. I will help out.

Thank you so much for everything pap. I love you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
