Two simple words I want to say to you are, thank you.
Thank you for being my second dad. Thank you for always protecting me since the day I came into this world. Thank you for the days where I felt like I was at my lowest, that you were here for me. Thank you for having my back and telling me when I'm right or wrong. Thank you for always picking on me and fighting with me to make me a stronger young lady. Thank you for the countless memories we've made and thank you for being my absolute best friends through all these years. Thank you for babysitting me and cheating when we played poker by looking through my glasses. Thank you for making these memories with me that I get to remember and cherish forever.
Growing up with brothers could be annoying to some girls, but to me, it has been one of the best blessings in my life. I know throughout the years I have been a pain, a brat, and a little drama queen sometimes, but I really am thankful to have men like you in my life. You guys have been my role models and my rocks since day one. Girls say that it's a pain to have older brothers because they are "too protective" or they don't get along well, I on the other hand love having one because I love to know I'm protected! Besides, what siblings DON'T argue with each other at least a few times in their childhood?
When you guys got your own families I felt like I was going to lose that support system, that feeling of always having someone to talk to or someone who will always be there for me. However, since then I've felt like I've grown closer to you guys and continue to cherish every moment of our childhood more and more. I think having that special bond is better than any other!
With all of this being said I want to thank you again for making me the happiest/proudest little sister ever and I hope that one day I can raise my son to be just like you guys. Always remember no matter how old I get or where life takes us, I'll always be your little sister.
Girls who have older brothers, cherish them because when life hits you and you guys go your ways, you'll always have your memories that you can keep with you forever. Enjoy the little times with them, enjoy the arguments you guys share because when you get older they'll eventually die down. Enjoy the "over-protectiveness" of your brothers because without it, you'll feel so lost. Remember the times you guys have had with each other growing up and hang on to them as long as you can because one day they'll be grown and apart from you and you'll get to hold on to everything ever created!
"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." -Audrey Hepburn
