Excited for the holiday, but worries about putting on the extra pounds before New Years? Never fear, low-calorie baking is here!

Most people don't realize how simple swaps can truly impact their baking and the health value of it. Around the holidays, most people aren't concerned about the calorie because of all of the special occasions, but we would all be lying if we never once had the new years resolution to be healthier, lose weight, or go to the gym regularly.

This holiday season, make yourself feel even better before New Years by watching the cooking pot and baking sheet a little closer. Simple swaps every day can make for a better and healthier tomorrow. For more healthy baking recipes like the one below, check them out at Eatingwell.com


  • 2/3 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar or 1/3 cup Splenda Sugar Blend for Baking (see Tips)
  • 3/4 cup canned unseasoned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1 cup raisins

    Set oven to 350 degrees, combine ingredients and wait 20 minutes to enjoy!
