Thank You Letter To My Childhood Best Friend
Mariah Maiorano

We all have that one person that has been there with you through it all. Of course there is your family to help guide you through your troubles, but having a friend who knows everything about you is special in its own unique way. Nothing beats having a "go-to" best friend that you have known since you can remember. I'm so thankful for you and our friendship.

Thank you for always telling me the truth. I probably never want to hear it, but I need to and that's why you tell me. I know that when I come to you for advice that I'm going the right person.

Thank you for always listening. Thank you for listening to all of my stories that are nothing but nonsense. Thank you for always thoroughly reading through the novels that I call text messages. It doesn't matter where you are or how busy you might be, you always make time for me and my "crisis" at the time.

Thank you for all of the deep belly laughs. I'm talking about the make-your-stomach-hurt kind of laughs. No matter what kind of mood we might be in and no matter how far away we are from each other, you always find a way to make me die of laughter. You always find a way to turn a negative situation into a fun and positive one. You bring me back to reality and make me realize that nothing is ever as serious as it seems, and I love you for that.

Thank you for showing me what a real friendship is. There's so many people that come and go throughout our lives, but I know that you'll always be there no matter what. Even if I was only half of the friend that you are, I think that makes me a pretty amazing friend. I couldn't ask for anyone better to be my ride or die.

Childhood best friends aren't like regular best friends. Don't get me wrong, all friendships are special, but having a childhood best friend is the ultimate gift. Thank you for being you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
